I agree, but to an extent. You don't want to be so desperate to overpay for a mediocre reliever. Besides making these small attempts of finding a diamond in a rough is sorta the sox way. I don't think it will ever change.

 

Not only that, but you never know, one of those reliever can take the place of a faultering Politte or Hermy. Politte was getting saved at the end of last year and Hermy is questionable with his back. Even then if hes 100% healthy I don't see him being as good as he was 1st half of last season.

 

I'll tell you guys this much, the bullpen has me a little worried this season.

It's definitely in prime position to be our major weakness. Oh well, at least we have McCarthy in the bullpen.
