NA NA HEY HEY ... Song my be GOODBYE

Featured Replies

Since Nancy Faust will no longer be performing at night games, who, if anyone, will start the Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye chant when an opposing pitcher gets pulled?

That is a timeless White Sox tradition.

Will they used canned music for it?

They had been do it. Its been about 30 years of tradition.

Yeah, it'll still be done. It's done at just about any sporting event now, and Nancy's only doing the Sox games.

The Sox have talked to Nancy about using some of her music "canned" so to speak. They'll be able to play a recorded version of Na Na Na, the anthem if necessary, and take me out to the ballgame.

Nancy Faust, who has been the White Sox's organist since 1970, returned her newly signed 2006 contract to the club on Jan. 14. Generally, she will play only for games that start at or before 3:05 p.m. Sox fans will be listening to prerecorded music for most home games that start at 6:05 or 7:05 p.m. Faust plans to play for the Sunday night home opener against the Indians as well as any postseason games. …

While I understand it's tradition to do the "na na hey hey" song when the opposing pitcher gets pulled, I always thought there should be a requirement that the Sox knocked him out. There have been times when the opposing pitcher has been dealing, the Sox haven't really gotten to him, but the pitcher gets pulled, usually for matchup purposes. But it wasn't a removal because the Sox smacked him around. I always thought that jeering an opposing pitcher who's throwing a great game against us doesn't show us to be very baseball astute.

Still, it's tradition, I guess.

Someone mentioned this to Nancy somewhere and she said she understood but it was orders from above that had her playing it in the scenerio mentioned above. I think she only does one verse on an occassion like that.

Ah they HAVE to have it during white sox games.

What a tradation to have :D

This is her last year, I'm wagering.

Nancy's gone for night games?

WHERE WILL SHE PLAY?

I had to...I will miss her too! wow just think was a young hot mama:wubwhen she started...I used to love to watch her play when i went to games...amazing! We'll miss your smile!!!!! :crying
