March 12, 200620 yr QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) Holy s*** Nantz you are my hero show this b**** whats up for those not able to watch like myself, what happened?
March 12, 200620 yr Anyone see this. The guy has a point, teams like George Mason and Air Force don't really play anyone and teams like Cincinatti, Michigan, and Florida State deserve to be in more than these teams.
March 12, 200620 yr Author QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) for those not able to watch like myself, what happened? He cut off the committee chair twice to get his 2 cents in. He was totally pissed at the chairman.
March 13, 200620 yr Yeah, him and Billy boy b****ed that not all 34 at large bids went to the power leagues. f*** them.
March 13, 200620 yr I'm not sure which one this belongs in because it is general in nature, but Nance and Packer's stance with the Committee Chairman. Talking about 5 year trends is stupid. Comparing the ACC to the MVC is stupid when the seeds each team gets is vastly different. NO, the MVC is not as good as the ACC because they got the same number of bids. A mid-major conference like the MVC is not competing against the likes of Duke and UNC for a bid. They ARE competing with Florida State and Maryland and I think they measured up just fine. I do think the MVC and CAA were probably overrated this year. But I also think comparing how many wins each conference has during the tournament in the past few years is STUPID. My feeling is that while a Maryland or a Florida State MAY be better than George Mason or Bradley, who cares? They had their chances to be in the top part of their conference or win games in their conference tournament. The mix of the little guys with the big guys is what makes this tournament so damned great!! So I guess I will add a "just shut the f*** up Billy Packer and Jim Nance"!
March 13, 200620 yr All Nantz and Packer did was b**** that the power conferences didn't get all the at large bids. They were right to b****, but b****ed about the wrong stuff.
March 13, 200620 yr Michigan doesn't deserve to be in at all.. (I know that I've said this countless times in other threads ) Edited March 13, 200620 yr by Felix
March 13, 200620 yr Their stance isn't always right though. Most big conferences wont play mid majors unless the mid major goes on the road, or unless it's a "neutral" site close to home. And, before he b****es about the MVC, the MVC was 3-2 against the Big 10, the top rpi conference.
March 13, 200620 yr Who cares about what Jim Nantz and Billy Packer have to say, get these clowns off TV with basketball analysis. Nantz doesn't even pay attention to hoops until February and Packer is an annoying, arrogant son of a b****. Until these guys get hired to make the brackets, they need to shut face. I don't agree with Air Force getting in either, but the mid majors got well-represented in the dance and I am estatic about that. Bottom line is that the committee didn't let teams from the power conferences who played sub-par non conference schedules get in based on a few decent wins in the conference. These schools need to step up and schedule the mid-major teams instead of totally ducking them and loading their schedules with cupcakes. Nantz you are unprofessional and a joke.

And, before he b****es about the MVC, the MVC was 3-2 against the Big 10, the top rpi conference. I actually thought at least one more MVC team should've made it. I've just never been a fan of having every single conference get a team in, I understand perfectly why it's that way, but we all know the top 64, 65 whatever, teams aren't in the tournament.
March 13, 200620 yr From the other thread by me but it deserves to go here too: Who cares about what Jim Nantz and Billy Packer have to say, get these clowns off TV with basketball analysis. March 13, 200620 yr No way Michigan should have gotten in. They won a few games at home, but weren't consistent enough. Florida State was a good omission too. Outside of the win against Duke, they did nothing. I don't have a problem with Cinci either because they haven't been very good since Kirkland got hurt. This is just a bad year for a lot of the power conferences, and frankly I think this year a lot of the mid-majors can hang with them.
March 13, 200620 yr Like I've said before, I don't mind Nantz going that, I've never seen him that mad. Sure I don't completely agree with him but I got a good laugh out of it. The person I wanted to slap was Clark Kellog, way to go out on a limb, picking all 4 #1's to go to the Final Four.

March 15, 200620 yr Billy Packer is proving more and more that he's a complete tool. He admits that he hasn't seen any of the valley teams play this year, yet he's pissed off that they got so many teams in. Hey Billy, watch some of these teams play or shut the f*** up. Edited March 15, 200620 yr by Rowand44
March 15, 200620 yr i like how he said the teams at the top are much better so that means those conferences deserve to get more bids
March 16, 200620 yr Suck it Packer! After 3 games, not a single Major Conference team is leading at the end of regulation.
