Good day for Jose. Glad to see he was good with dropping down. Might take a start or two to get that pinpoint control back but he looks healhty and good to go.

How many did Jose walk? Was it three?

Dunno. I think three sounds about right.

Somebody also needs to ask for a raise, deservedly so.

Thortons gonna win the Cy young, well either him or Boone Logan. Its really up in the air at this point.

Wasn't Nardi Contreras the pitching coach for Thornton in Seattle? If so, that's like going from the outhouse to the penthouse.

Thornton has made some strides and his posture on the mound reflects increased confidence. Nice to see.

DJ just mentioned the lack of stolen bases in ST. They've stolen only 7 bases and have gotten caught 12 times. I would love to have more speed on this team.

Unless some BIG MONEY gets thrown at him, I cant see Coop leaving anytime soon. When the Yanks came a' calling, he pretty much put to rest any sort of notion of him leaving.

Who the Hell cares what happened in the past...get his contract extended and let's make it so we don't have to think about it until the end of this decade.

Scott Podsednik has had 22 at bats.

Considering we don't have a team of speedsters, the lack of steals doesn't bother me at all.

stealing bases is a dying art in major league bseball

Bottom of the 5th

Cintron with a hard single through the left infield

Gload grounds to first, Helton throws away the ball into left field.

Sacrafice bunt by Anderson, runners advance to third and second(1)

Pablo grounds out to first, Helton holds the runners(2)

Rob Mackowiak(he needs a nickname) lights out to left(3)

I hope no one minds me trying to do these inning recaps :D

I was not aware of the SB% in ST, but I think we should be ok in the speed department. Maybe im wrong...

Well, let's look at the details.

Brian Anderson is 1/5 in ST in SB. That's pretty ugly, but the rest:

Crede 0/1

Ozuna 1/1

AJ 0/1

Mack 1/1

Valido 1/3

The Widge 0/1

Blakely 1/1

Owens 2/2

Pods 0/3

The guys who will be doing most of the running...have either very few or none. AJ and the Widge are running. ST at its finest.

Top of the 6th

Batter(didn't catch name) singles

Ardoin strike outs swining(1)

Runner on Second caught in a run down on a steal, Widger throws to Cintron, Alex throws the ball away into the stands. Runner advances to third.

Choo Freeman grounds to Second, runner is held at third(2)

Carrol flys out to Left(3)

Thorton with another good inning!!

is thorton still in?

Bottom of the 6th

Smith hitting for Thome, Smith strikes out swinging(1)

Haggerty singles to left

Widger grounds into a douple play(2 & 3)

Short inning right there

Top of the 7th Thornton still in pitching

Smith flys out to Center Field(1)

Helton strike outs looking(2)

McCarthy into relieve Thornton

Holliday flys out to Right Field(3)

Did Thornton come out for the 7th? He used to start, be nice if we could see him throwing 2+ innings for us.
