Were there any greats who wore #23 for the Bears or Hawks?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if the Bears or Blackhawks had any greats who wore #23, b/c if it was, that would be the greatest # in Chicago sports: Bulls - Jordan, Sox - Dye (WS MVP), Cubs - Sandberg

Mikita wore 21. Doug Moans wore 2. Does that count?

And then Doug Mohns switched to #11 while Pat Stapleton was wearing #12. :bang

I wouldn't count J.P. Bordeleau and Behn Wilson as memorable wearers of #23. Seriously though I can't think of a prominent Blackhawk wearing 23.

dont forget Ventura # 23

does Jerry Azumah count? # 23

Bobby Hull + Dennis Hull + Bobby Orr?

Here's a list of who's worn which number for the Hawks.

It's an old site, so it only includes players upto the end of the 96/97 season.

Here's the home page - It's out of date, but worth a look.

Don't worry, there hasn't been anyone worth mentioning on the Hawks since about that time period :bang

He played for the Bears in the 80's ( including on the '85 team ) as a safety and was pretty darn good at it also.

All right, then, he is the man for the Bears. That should be good enough. I don't follow hockey, so I could just say f*** it.

Here's an easier answer; the Slackhawks aren't a pimple on the huge ass of Chicago sports. There must be somebody on the new WNBA team wearing #23 that would be more worthy of mentioning than that crappy hockey franchise.

I don't follow hockey much, so that's cool. No one in this town even likes hockey

I wouldn't necessarily say that. I don't think they like Blackhawk hockey, but they like hockey.

Zoom was #23 on the Bears.
