They were slapfighting. Both missed each other with glancing blows. Kinda funny really in the replays.

 

But this fight needed one more thing -- more Right Fielder Jump Kicks!

Mabry ran in to the scrum looking for trouble, BA threw a wild right at him, and then down they went in a heap.

Don't say that everyone on here thinks BA knocked Mabry out and yoou'll be called a troll by BigSqwert.

I'm all for it in principle, and I think Freddy would be, too. If I recall, last year Garcia had no problem beaning Derek Lee as revenge.

 

Except that I'm not for giving McCarthy another spot start (we need him in the pen) and I don't want to see Haeger or Redding brought up because Freddy gets suspended.

Fox says AJ got tossed because he said something to Barrett that started the whole thing.

 

From our vantage point, the only person obviously saying anything was Barrett after he grabbed AJ - I don't understand where Jackson gets off saying Pierz said something.

Starting pitchers suspensions don't mean anything. It's very easy to get around it.

BE PATIENT!!! Wait till the 8th or 9th inning THEN throw at them. Get someone like Thornton in there to do the dirty work.

Ottawa you're right, it looks like Barrett clearly said something to AJP but it was very tough to see if AJ said something back.

It's AJP. Do you not think he's talking s*** to the opposing team all the time? It's his schtick. I'm sure he said something when he slapped the plate that may have set Barrett off (more than the playing for the suckass team, getting their ass handed to them with all the trimmings by their South Side rivals and totally realizing that the Cubs will be in the basement during 2006)
