June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Looks good in the black and white. i am hoping one of my friends get drafted in the later rounds. John Rosinski, OF from New Trier. He's got bloodlines, his dad was the 4th pick by the Cubs in '75. Edited June 6, 200619 yr by maggsmaggs
June 6, 200619 yr Is Brett Anderson falling for signability reasons? He's the 19th ranked overall player by Baseball America, a LH-pitcher.
June 6, 200619 yr They are no going to take a risky player. That's no their MO. They are going to build assets. KW has shown he'll draft for a need if he thinks he has one, AKA Josh Fields. Otherwise, its all about building assets. You can't hardly argue with KW's success here he's been able to turn his draft assets into players for our major league roster... Jim Thome being a prime example.
June 6, 200619 yr Brett Anderson finally gone to the D'Backs. Steven Wright goes to the Indians -- I remember somebody liking him (Sickels or Goldstein, IIRC) a lot.

June 6, 200619 yr So, Jason, Cerb, any other draft experts -- who should we be looking at with the second pick? Is Hodges a realistic possibility?
June 6, 200619 yr Brewers select Brent Brewer for sake of making fans laugh. Edited June 6, 200619 yr by BigSqwert
June 6, 200619 yr Usually I'm all about college guys in the first 3 rounds, but the way this draft is working I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox go HS with this 2nd rounder. Some great value out there.
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) So, Jason, Cerb, any other draft experts -- who should we be looking at with the second pick? Is Hodges a realistic possibility? Dellin Betances (i overrate a ton probably,) big kid who throws hard.
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) So, Jason, Cerb, any other draft experts -- who should we be looking at with the second pick? Is Hodges a realistic possibility? Yes, even though he's a 3rd baseman he' sa very good hitter, a good athlete and can switch hit. Obviously we do have a few other guys at 3rd though (Fields and Schnur). I wouldn't be shocked if we take a catcher relatively early though in this draft and I think we'll load the first few rounds on PITCHING. Look for a potential closer here (may even be a reach pick).

Yup, and we have a history of redrafting players who we've selected before (Getz, Brooks). Expect more pitching to be drafted.
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) Brewers select Brent Brewer for sake of making fans laugh. He's also commited to FSU as a 3 star WR. I wonder if he'll sign or play football.
June 6, 200619 yr Minny takes a kid from Joliet Catholic -- we better not be looking at Curtis Granderson Part2 here...
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) Minny takes a kid from Joliet Catholic -- we better not be looking at Curtis Granderson Part2 here... He is considered a tough sign out of his scholorship with Purdue. My guess is he goes to college.
June 6, 200619 yr Some guys I'd like the Sox to take: Wes Hodges, 3B, Ga. Tech Jordan Walden, RHP, HS Chad Tracy, C, Pepperdine
June 6, 200619 yr Has anyone found out the name of the NC high school pitcher with the last name of White? I've been told to expect the Sox to take him early in the draft.
June 6, 200619 yr Sox select Matthew Long, P, Miami Univ (f*** you, MU, get a new goddamn name Edited June 6, 200619 yr by Cerbaho-WG
