Jeff Nelson = Done

Featured Replies

Well that was a waste of a few weeks... At this point I wish we had just had Montero, Tracey, or whoever up here to take their lumps instead of wasting our time with a guy who was obviously hurt. Thanks for nothing.

For his efforts, Nelson will receive approx. $350,000 (pro-rated $500,000 salary), he had a nice room at the Westin for a couple of weeks, and now probably goes back to the broadcasting in Seattle. Not bad at all for him. This exit still has me shaking my head. I still think there is more to the story than elbow damage.

Somewhere Jabroni is crying.

So, what was your favorite moment of the Jeff Nelson era? His stay here is almost as memorable as the immortal Jose Paniagua's stint a few years back.

What happened to him?

So, who do we trade for? I haven't even thought about who, yet, but it seems obvious this is going to be a trade possibility.

Ozzie thinks the same way as Nelson on this topic. Should he move along as well?

No, but he can kiss my ass and I'm currently very pissed at Ozzie for being an ignorant fool on this subject.

Enjoy your world series ring in October Jeff, thanks for your week of fun.

I think you might be onto something there... Strange timing with this announcement and Grimsleys arrest and subsequent revealations.

They did play together on the 1999 and 2000 New York Yankees......so it's possible.

yuck...I hope not.

Yankees are my #2 team and I'd hate to see them (or the White Sox for that matter) dragged through the mud.

With Jason Giambi on that team, they have much bigger problems when it comes to the juice.

True, but he came clean and is back to being a great hitter.

It's scary to think what this scumbag Grimsley knows or is saying.

Yeah its not pretty he is narking, with that whole code of silence crap, but at the sametime, if baseball is ever going to get past this mess, it is going to take a big purge getting everyone out into the open so that we can move on from this. If the players keep getting protected and hidden away, this issue will continue to simmer as people mindlessly speculate about who is and who isn't doped up. Of course the players union has done nothing to help this matter by fighting every single step of the way against drug testing and penalites. Hopefully this means we will get bloodtesting soon, instead of the basically worthless piss tests they have now.

Well said, SS

1.) He never came clean, he said he was sorry but never what for.

2.) HGH still isn't tested for so as far as I'm concerned both he and Sheff are far from clean.

You're entitled to your opinion. As a fan, I am obviously biased.

It's true they are possibly on HGH, but that is true of many ppl in the league.

That's why SS2k5 is right about the need for more rigorous testing.
