Best Hawk Call of '06?

Featured Replies

Personally I think Hawks best call so far this season was on 05/22/06 when Rob Mackowiak had a pinch hit HR off Houston Street, the way he says "way back" it sounds like hes having a heart attack, and I laugh every time, you can watch it here. Its listed at 05/23/06 on the site.

That was a good one, but last night's Thome call was great as well.

Hawk went nuts on that, you can just hear his voice go to another level when he says WAY BACK.

I love that Hawk call, too. Then again, I love most of his calls...as much of a homer as he is, I like having an announcer that is a big fan of the team. He's not there to make calls for the other team or the other teams fans, if they want to listen to their own announcers, turn on their local radio station or mute it...

I love it when he makes a call and you can feel/hear the elation in his voice...he truly is the voice of the Sox fan, whether some of you like it or not...

It gives me goosebumps to hear his Joe Crede HR call vs the Indians late last year (a game I was at)...it was an amazing moment, and his call lived up to that moment.

The best call ever is when Timo came around to score in the ninth. "Comeon Timo, Comeon Timo." Then he describes the scoring and when he says 2 in the Ninth to win it, his voice cracks and went up 10 octaves. Hilarious.

Usually he can get all of his home run call out in one breath. Whenever you hear him gasping between every two words, then you KNOW he's geeked. Last night on Thome's granny he was amped.

By the way, I only recall Sammy hitting the CF fan deck bushes.

I feel proud to have been at that game.

Yeah his call during Thome's grand slam last night was classic.

But really, does anything top the JOE... CREDE... call from last year's Cleveland game?

god i wish he did the AJ homer call at Wrigley, he would have s*** his depends.

NO KIDDING! ;)

I was screaming all by myself in my apartment when that happened. That was the L.A. A.J. homer of this year (my favorite all-time play of last year).

I was at that game, so I'm biased to say it is one of my favorites. There are wayyy too many to pick from, there have been some GREAT games this year. We have one hell of an exciting team.

Probably the Mack game as of now. A lot of our real late come back wins that he would have went psychotic during were on national tv, so we've probably missed some of the best calls this year. The AJ homer, the Iguchi come back, the Crede granny against Houston, the 11th inning come back against the tribe were all on national tv.

Nah, I think it was more like... JOOOOOOOOEEE... CREEEEEEDDDEEE-eee-EEEE!!!!!!!

And I have that "Story of the 20005 World champion Chicago White Sox" on tape, so I can hear it whenever I want. Part of the Timo thing is on there, too, but without the "COME ON, TIMO!"

I think DJ's "You don't want me on that wall, you NEED me on that wall!" after Rowand slammed into the wall making a great play last year was the best.

I can't remember how the call went, but I remember the AJ walkoff against the Dodgers being something special.

that game gives me shiver, I remember feeling so down with the prospect of us losing another game to the indians.

Indians, weren't they supposed to be the favorites this year.....hmmm espn

You want automatic goosebumps? Go to the 2005 October highlight page.

I'm still waiting for a game where Hawk goes"AAAAYYYY...JAAAAAYYY... PIERZYNKSEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

Hey, we already got...

"JOOOOOOE... CREEEEDEEEEE!"

"PABLOOOO... OZOOOOONA!"

"PAAAUUUL KONERKOOOO!"

Hell, even "JON GARLAND!" ROFL.

i wish hawk called pauly in game 2 of the series

Rooney's call was just as good. Don't know if it could be topped.

Sox lead, 6-4. Light it up!

I hate Hawk, but I liked his call when Cintron hit a three run blast in the eighth against Detroit.
