you don't "get 2 bases" if it goes into the stands, it's a ground rule double no matter what, he should have been on 2nd and thats where he was, he just had a horrible slide

But the fielder fielded it then bobbled it into the stands, how is that any different from a player throwing it into the stands? Did Cintron make a turn at first at all? Wouldn't that be 2 bases in that case?

keep laying off the high one pods

Apparently the announcers only question the opposing pitcher's drop in velocity.

He never had possession of the ball, which is probably why he didn't get 2 bases.

hard hit still pods

Good play Inge

fundamentals, soooo key.

That's a tad silly though, considering he clearly obstructed the path of the ball into the stands.

P.S. INGE LOL

Underrated defense? Meh.

Doesn't matter. If the ball goes into the stands on it's own, it's just two bases. If you touch the ball, even if it's going into the stands, you caused it, so it should be three.

Yankees left their defense here

So Verlander's velocity is down? I just got in...I can only look at the stat sheets

Whoever cuts and paste the rule from mlb.com wins.

fine by me

inge is a very underated defensively, but I think he tried to make that play more of a web gem than it needed to be, thanks though!

Yeah, Hawk mentioned how he was hitting 100 earlier this year and can't get past 96/97 now.

Verlander is always at 100, he had dead arm??

apparently the umps from the yankees series, left their strike zone here too.

we have 9 hits...

I mute the TV and have the radio so I don't have to hear Hawk makes excuses now every inning, I hear Farmer questioning umpires. Sheesh!
