Alright, you know the gun's off when Thornton's only hitting 92.........PHEW, on that hit by Mauer

I think it's 3-4 mph off tonight.

The Twins had no problem with our 2-3-4 batters, can we do the same with their 3-4-5 battters?

Their 3-4-5 hitters are not trying to park every single pitch on the Dan Ryan.

Some very tough outs coming up for Sox pitchers in this 8th inning.

Everyone in this lineup is a tough out against us

It would be a shot to us and to the twins if we actually tried to hit line drives next inning, and strung a few hits together. I know it goes against our whole offensive strategy of lift and pull and pose, but it might win a close game. Just a thought.

That's one of the main reason we've always struggled against guys like Nathan and Rincon. They have that quick slider on the outside to righties, and everyone on the team will swing over it.

That's A HELL of a job by Thornton!! Well done buddy, now let's get the man a win, he deserves one this evening.

Great pitches by Thornton. Good thing we didn't use him in the 6th.

THANK YOU!!! Now please score a run this inning, hand it over to Jenks, and let's all take a nice BIG deep breath

beautiful work matt :)

Great job Thornton!!!!

Hit the f***ing ball, get a run. Send prancing pods to the bench. Move the butcher of CF over to Left where he belongs, and put BA in center and all balls at least get caught by competent fielders.

Its starting to get hard, very hard, to think how many games Thorton has kept us in, won, for us this year. HUGE KUDUS to him.

I like it when a guy is thought of as a pussywillow (seattle fans HATED him) and then changes scenery and is unstoppable. aka C. Patterson

They leave Crain in.......interesting.

I really haven't thought much about it until now but why is Gload at first in a crucial series? Granted there isn't a huge drop off defensively from Paulie but with a series this important do we really want to have a guy out there digging out balls in the dirt when he hasn't been out there very much this year?

I was under the impression that Ozzie was all about pitching, speed and defense. Seeing the lineups he throws out there makes me realize that he's all talk. Brian should be in CF and Paulie should be at first for this series. Have Paulie DH vs Tampa Bay next week if he needs the rest.

aj tries to park a 0-1 pitch

The Sox organization believes that Gload is a better defensive 1B. Also, I have no problem with getting PK some rest. He's seemed very fatigued lately.

It's still tied

Got a hanger there

AJP with a great pitch to hit on that 2-2. I hope he doesn't chance the low slider.

I hope we get one this inning, cause I gotta bad feeling about the top of the 9th

Keep fighting AJ...a gapper would be lovely.

AJ is our version of Vlad, minus the typical monstrous numbers.

Another good pitch to hit

I picked a hell of a day to quit sniffing glue

damn.
