September 12, 200619 yr http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...sp&c_id=mlb The only coin flip regarding the AL Wild Card involved the Twins and the White Sox. Chicago made the right call and would host a playoff at U.S. Cellular Field. Both of those teams, of course, are still in hot pursuit of the AL Central title and had to flip against the Tigers. Detroit won the flip against the Twins -- a source of some comfort since the Tigers just lost three consecutive games in the Metrodome to tighten up the race -- but lost to the White Sox.
September 12, 200619 yr So let me get this straight. If the Tigers and Sox tied for the wildcard or division we would host the one game playoff? Also what would happen if there was a 3 way tie for the wild card and central division? How would they figure that one out?
September 12, 200619 yr we are currently 11-5 vs Detroit so we won that one. What are vs Minny? Im pretty sure its 7-9
September 12, 200619 yr Who cares where the game is played? They have Santana and Nathan. We don't. We better just finish ahead of the Twins (or Tigers).
September 12, 200619 yr QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) I wonder who made the call? They probably did and surprisingly got it wrong.
September 13, 200619 yr I don't know why they just dont do head to head record to determine home field. If the teams are tied just do division record (AL record for the wild card).
September 13, 200619 yr QUOTE(sircaffey @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) Who cares where the game is played? They have Santana and Nathan. We don't. We better just finish ahead of the Twins (or Tigers). Santana has already lost a game at the Cell this year and Nathan has blown a save at that venue as well.
September 13, 200619 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Santana has already lost a game at the Cell this year and Nathan has blown a save at that venue as well. Stop with the positive thoughts, Kalapse. That doesn't belond around here!
