October 23, 200619 yr http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AoH_...n&type=lgns One of the more intriguing names on the Nationals' long list of managerial candidates is White Sox third base coach Joey Cora. "He's an impressive guy," says a rival club official. "He respected the game and played it the right way. He could be a quieter Ozzie (Guillen) with just as much fire." If Cora doesn't get his shot this time, he could become the White Sox's bench coach. . . .
October 23, 200619 yr "He could be a quieter Ozzie Guillen" What, exactly, is the point then? But yeah, I fully condone him leaving.
October 23, 200619 yr If you like seeing at least one guy thrown out at home by 20 feet every week, Joey is your guy.
October 23, 200619 yr QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Oct 22, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) If you like seeing at least one guy thrown out at home by 20 feet every week, Joey is your guy. If joey was the manager he wouldn't be sending people home from the dugout......or would he?
October 23, 200619 yr This would be one of the biggest gains of the offseason. SIGN HIM UP NATTIES!!!
October 23, 200619 yr There was an article this morning in one of the Washington papers saying that Cora was now out of the race for the Nats job. Don't think he was ever considered one of the favorites anyway. But now putting him in as the bench coach would be an interesting proposition. Wonder how people on here feel about that (and I feel sorry for the poor guy who has to come in an replace him as the 3rd base coach, if indeed it is going to happen).

Everytime someone is thrown out at home it's his fault. Everytime the runner is safe the runner was aggressive and did well. It's a no win job. It's like being an offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals. Edited October 23, 200619 yr by ptatc

Its when he sends Konerko in the same situation and he is out by 10 feet that is ridiculous.
October 23, 200619 yr I like Joey Cora. He always played hard for the sox... though I've had my qualms about his third base coaching decisions, I hope he gets the call to coach a big league team. As a rule, I'll always root for past white sox players to suceed in other ventures. Cora was never the most talented player... but he had a higher baseball iq than most. I hope he gets the job
October 24, 200619 yr If Cora leaves it would be an interesting to see who replaces him at 3rd. I would be interested if it would be an Ozzie choice or if KW and the org stick someone in there
October 24, 200619 yr Prolly Baines to 3rd, Razor Shines to 1st. Not sure on the bench coach. Would Kittle get into coaching again?
