February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(kman @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 02:58 PM) Good to hear as long as his "D" is there I could care less about his mid .200 avg because that .200 average didnt matter last year, right?
February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) because that .200 average didnt matter last year, right? yea it did but his 250 avg didint matter when we won the WS, so whats your point? Edited February 23, 200719 yr by kman

February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) I think you understand my point just fine .250 is not even close to .200 .252 in 05-.235 in 06. .020 points is not that far off, .020 doesnt win you Championships Defense does.

February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) I believe this is where the confusion is coming from well mid .200 is the middle of the .200's aka about .250. I thought that was a given?
February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(kman @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) well mid .200 is the middle of the .200's aka about .250. I thought that was a given? Yeah, I'm not sure Kyyle really got that.
February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) I believe this is where the confusion is coming from except .235 wasnt really mid. .250, yeah fine. Anything below is unacceptable. And Juan was pretty unacceptable all last year save a few minor streaks that brought his average up to .235 QUOTE(kman @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) well mid .200 is the middle of the .200's aka about .250. I thought that was a given? i missed the "mid", for sure. sorry about that

For some reason I get too wired up when I post on this site. Thats why I took a year off.
February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(kman @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) no prob. For some reason I get too wired up when I post on this site. Thats why I took a year off. my excuse is that Im on my lunch, so I am scanning posts fast, typing fast, and thinking too fast. Most of the time I end up in an argument when that happens. Its my fault
February 23, 200719 yr either way i think uribe needs better than a .250 average let alone a .232 average to keep his job this year. big year for uribe's future with the sox IMO.
February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) either way i think uribe needs better than a .250 average let alone a .232 average to keep his job this year. big year for uribe's future with the sox IMO. Seeing as how there's no realistic middle infield replacements out there for the Sox, I don't see how this could possibly be the case.

February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 05:35 PM) personally i would rather have cintron in there than an uribe who hits .232. Cintron is probably a better contact hitter but much like Uribe can't take a walk and has basically no power which is Uribe's strong point. The defense on the other hand is where Uribe really takes it, night and day between the 2. Seeing as how SS is one of the top 2 defensive positions on the field, I don't see why anyone would want Cintron playing there everyday.
February 23, 200719 yr I think Little papis defense makes up for his offense at least in terms of keeping him in over Cintron, hopefully hes not distracted this year and can improve on his BA
February 23, 200719 yr QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 05:35 PM) personally i would rather have cintron in there than an uribe who hits .232. you're likely to get similar results out of the two OPS wise, with Uribe having a slugging percentage influenced OPS opposed to Cintron's mixed OB/SLG influenced OPS (and all that means is that they'll be similarily bad). However, Uribe's reward is much, much higher than Cintron's. In a good year, Cintron will put up a .750 OPS with about a .310 average, whereas Uribe will probably hit anywhere from .260-.280 with an OPS in the .775-.825 region - and that's not including Uribe's superior defensive play.

February 24, 200719 yr A little sick of uribe and his tazmanian devil hurricane swing. Just make contact.
February 24, 200719 yr I like Cintron, he's a good utility infielder but I would feel alot more secure with Uribe at SS.
