ok, might not have looked pretty against Hafner and Martinez, but I'll take the goose egg

Did he get through the first unscathed? MLB.tv feels like being a b**** right now...

Erstad broke straight back on the Sizemore fly out then regrouped quickly and made the play. He also just broke in on the last fly out then regrouped with a few steps backwards.

I don't know if I should be encouraged that he's breaking the wrong way initially but is still regrouping in time to make the play or if I should be worried since he's getting poor initial reads.

It's the weather...or something. Erstad usually makes good reads.

It can't be easy reading a flyball on a day like today

PODS!

On a cold day, you figured the ump would have a more 'lenient' (sp?) strike zone. Guess not... At least he's consistent.

Well at least the ump is going both ways with the strike zone

Podsednik takes a walk, with Martinez and Westbrook wondering where the last pitch was. Sounds like it's at least being tight both ways, although Farmer was wondering about 1 of those 2 strikes and why it was called.

Wow, Ive never seen a strike zone so small...at least it goes both ways.

So, will it be a CS or a SB? Taking votes...

not sure if gameday is wrong or what....but strikes on gamecenter are called balls and balls are called strikes??

AJ Burnett's line vs the Tigers today: 2 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 2 K

His relief Marcum: 2/3 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K and a grandslam allowed to Granderson.

8-0 Tigers in the 3rd.

He'll take it. SB

Westbrook is going to get thrown out of the game, and both managers will as well.

CS

with this strikezone today, I hope Ozzie lays off for a few batters

Gameday has those first 2 pitches to Erstad actually IN the strike zone box. This is pretty remarkable.

Wow, this is just terrible umping thus far.

I think that the guy running Gameday is making some sort of commentary on the pitch calling. I've never actually seen Gameday do this either.

This strike zone is quite possibly the smallest I have ever seen. No way the pitchers are effective today if this holds. JIM THOME!!!!!!!!!
