TONIGHT'S GAME POSTPONED

Featured Replies

Figures - first game I get to watch and it is post-poned. I can't believe how freaking cold it is. After 70s and 80s in Texas, the cold feels all that much worse. My flight out of Houston last night was delayed 2-1/2 hrs due to high winds in Chicago. When we were landing the shearing was so bad we were almost knocked off of the runway. Not a good feeling when landing and feeling the plane moving sideways rather than forward.

Conspiracy theory #1

Cancelled to rest the bullpen

I'm okay with it.

and #2 to give Burls and extra day before his next start. I'd be lying if I didnt think to say that these reasons played a part in the cancellation.

Except for the fact that it doesn't. They're just going to skip Danks in the rotation so Buehlre will make his scheduled start on Tuesday.

Another reason would be walk up sales would be so s***ty tonight.

And this game postponment message brought to you by the Global Warming Experts, Unlimited. For more information on the Global Warming Experts, see the Filibuster section of soxtalk.com.

And now the forecast...

It's cold as hell, and we're cancelling the game.

Back to you, soxtalk.com!

Assuming there is no DH this weekend, there will probably be one at the Min series on July 5-7 as it's right before the all-star break.

Temperatures during the game tonight would be between 18 to 22 degrees with 15 to 30 MPH winds. No conspiracy theory needed, baseball really shouldn't be played in those conditions.

Thats nothing...I went to the Bears/Vikings this year and it was like 10 degrees...

Football and baseball aren't exactly supposed to be compared here.

Football also doesn't have rain delays. Some sports can't/shouldn't be played in this kind of weather.

July 6th Twi-night doubleheader.

haha, fair enough. I'll admit all the positive comments about Vazquez this past offseason have given me hope he will turn it around.

Another good thing is not missin any Tyrus Thomas highlights due to flipping between games.

Son of a bit$%!!!!!!!!!!!! I might as well just go to sleep and wait for Saturday. This really sucks!

if youre going to build an outdoor stadium, make it with a retractable roof! :P

Your lineup is going to light up Silva tommorrow, if the game is played

That might be true, but don't count Javy out for getting lit up by your lineup either. Odds are pretty good.

What's going on with other games? Milwaukee-Cubs still looks to be on. Seattle at Cleveland is just starting up.

Beltre in short sleeves. Enjoy that.

Well they do have a retractable roof on Miller Park so I assume that game was never in jeopardy of being called.

Okay, I didn't know that. As long as the Sox aren't bigger pussies than the Cubs, I can sleep tonight.

Seattle-Cleveland is pretty funny to watch. Just came back from a delay for one pitch, only to delay again now. The visibility is crap with all the snow. Wacky.

I thought for quite some time now, to build a stadium with a retractable roof.
