knightni
QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) Thome has to be a write in? No DH on the ballot. (especially since it's in an NL park this year) Paulie has the 1b nod for the Sox on the ballot.
Shamrock4Life
kinda sucks thome has to need some write in votes. hopefully if he keeps it up, the coaches and players put him on. and all-star voting shouldn't start until june 1st, imo. at least memorial day weekend. Drew
NL years always piss me off because David Ortiz plays at first for the American League, making it one of the 16 games a year he plays in the field.

Cali
There's no point in voting, the Sox are just never gonna have a starter voted in. When has it even been close? The smallest gap probably averages 200,000 or so from the leading vote getter per position. I'll vote once like I always do, but it's futile. If they couldnt get a starter voted last year, the year after winning a championship when the bandwagon hopping fans vote for the winners, they'll never get one. I'm getting jumbled with what years Frank and Maggs were on there (I'm starting to doubt myself and think Maggs might have been on there twice too?) I know one year, both were on the same ballot. Gregory Pratt
I'm talking about winning for the third year in a row although nothing will ever be sweeter re: all-star votes than getting AJ on there last year.

No other club has had a choice for fans every year.

It was actually Paulie in 2004 with Frank. Now I remember. Frank and Paulie took votes away from each other and Matsui won. Here are the AL Final Vote listings (interesting to see Thome and Erstad in 2002): 2002 Final Vote Johnny Damon Jim Thome Eric Chavez Magglio Ordonez* Darin Erstad 2003 Final Vote Jason Varitek Frank Thomas* Eric Byrnes Jason Giambi Bengie Molina 2004 Final Vote Hideki Matsui Lew Ford Travis Hafner Paul Konerko* Frank Thomas* 2005 Final Vote Scott Podsednik* Derek Jeter Torii Hunter Hideki Matsui Carl Crawford 2006 Final Vote A.J. What, there aren't 200 people who could do that???
