after the 2-0 count

How does a 40 year old pitcher not know if he throws side arm or over hand?

Nice K

Ed not sure about the strike zone

that sidearm 2 seemer was deadly last year when it started outside and came back over the black on the righties, but now its all over the place. He needs to find his slot first, then start dropping down.

wow that was lucky

I dont understand how this is hard for him to realize.

Before his injury he threw 3/4 90 percent of the time. He had plus velocity, and it allowed him to the have the same arm slot for his splitter and his fastball. Making him unhittable at times. He used to drop down at times on a right handed to get a different angle.

Now after the injury, he is side arm and then goes to 3/4s to throw his forkball. This gives a different arm slot for different pitches allowing hitters to differentiate from the 2 pitches. He also doesnt get as much velocity from the sidearm side, and the ball has a propensity to sail from the side arm slot.

Jermaine Dead with a flyout

1-2-3 quick inning for the sox. Silva barely breaks a sweat. Nice approach guys.

9 pitch Inning!

they are hitting him so hard right now

Paulie showed us his hops. nice jumping catch.

I like Sweeney in CF

Lets hope that Oz has Sweeney in CF for a few games upcoming, to affirm that he can play there as a backup to grindErstad, further justifying keeping him over the ever important Luis Terrero.

I like to hope thats the case at least.

We dont want him to be a backup though, he needs to be in there everyday or in AAA.

He can play everyday in LF, and spell Grinderstad if need be in CF.

Holy s***, third inning already?

Juan keeps trying to go out to CF. NIce approach at least.

may be 7 in a row retired, but we are seeing the ball well.

Thats what I was meaning. That if grindErstad needed a day off, Oz has enough confidence to put Sweeney in CF and Mack/Ozuna in LF. Otherwise, Sweeney starts in LF.

Yeah, it could happen, Sweeney plays a pretty good CF, plus he has a killed arm.

Jose has moved over to the side of the mound.

The hitting approach is sad right now.

Jason Kubel? Give me a f***ing break. Twins are getting really good swings.
