Dye really needs to have tomorrow off. In fact, a few days off would't hurt. In fact, he might look good in a Tampa Bay uniform or even an Expos uniform when Thome comes back.

It doesnt matter, when we win games like that people are just gonna b**** about Corpseball being all or nothing. Winning close games are more important than blowing people out, although blowouts are more fun to watch

By blow outs are much easier on the nerves, then always having the game come down to the last out.

So you want the outfield to be Erstad, Sweeney and Terrero/Mack/Ozuna?

No thanks.

We might as well get rid of Konerko and Crede with this theory...he'll come around, and he's had some huge homers early this season, despite his low average.

Ummm, no. He's not even a LH specialist this year, lefties are hitting well over .300 against him, which is his primary job.

He showed some good velocity, but Jenks and Thornton both throw too straight to get away with it if the location's bad.

It worked out. The SOX won. I'm just saying what I would have done.

Why? So Terrero can start in right everyday? And we know that will happen, not Sweeney!

And what if Thome goes down again. You do not get rid of Dye unless we are out of it.

Well maybe I was a bit rash, but Uribe should be hitting higher in the order than Dye right now.

We blew everyone out April-June of 2006, and we didn't learn how to win close games.

This approach (our ERA now is around 3.70, only about 1/10th behind our pace in 2005) is much better than relying on offense, because if we can play .500 with this schedule (we've played better on the road than home too, another good sign) and without Thome and Pods and Hall, we can't help but be a much better team from June on. We played a ton of 1-2 run games in 05 and ended up on the winning side more often than not.

I still think Cleveland and Detroit are better teams, but it should at least be interesting.

I would never disagree with you on any of this, but again it is easier on the nerves when not every game comes down to the last out. I don't recall a true blow out win this year.
