May 28, 200718 yr s***...I can't believe Fullerton is a 2 seed. We've had some serious injuries and have just collapsed the past month or so. But lets make things interesting Titans!!!!
May 28, 200718 yr Author I was praying that we didn't get youguys in our regional or even a possible SR matchup. I don't mind our pairings for now. Stetson and BCC will be good competition, and I am really looking forward to the Dawgs game. I don't like the fact we can see Clemson in the SR though. Besides Florida (1-2), theyre the only team we have a losing record against this year (1-3). O well, I just hope we do well so I can make a trip to Omaha.
May 28, 200718 yr Missouri being a regional host after losing so many pitchers last year is pretty impressive, especially when Max Scherzer (although he was injured for Mizzou parts of the year) is one of them. Missouri's pitching is basically all underclassman, so this could be a intersting CWS for them. Regardless, this year will be a good learning tool for next year when they will be one of the top 5 teams in the country, especially if they can get Nick Tepesch (top 70 player in the nation) to go to college.
May 28, 200718 yr 1 *North Carolina (48-12) 4 Wofford (30-31) 3 Western Caro. (40-18) 2 East Caro. (39-21) Outside of ECU, I love those matchups. Playing UNC in any sport is ECU fan's World Series, or Super Bowl or whatever you want to call it.

Yeah, I can't wait to go to the regional this weekend and next year should be amazing. Holst is the only senior on the staff and the two juniors aren't going to get drafted so it should be fun next year. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ May 28, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Outside of ECU, I love those matchups. Playing UNC in any sport is ECU fan's World Series, or Super Bowl or whatever you want to call it. Funny thing, the selection committee put Western Carolina and Wofford in the same regional and they are in the same conference which isn't allowed. So they swapped Wofford and Jacksonville from the South Carolina regional. So UNC is paired with ECU, Western Carolina, and Jacksonville. Jacksonville is 34-26 (15-12) from the Atlantic Sun. They're probably better than Wofford, who was 9th in their conference but ran the conference tournament.
May 29, 200718 yr QUOTE(BearSox @ May 28, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) Go Hogs! it must sting making it to all 3 SEC title games and losing them all this year
May 29, 200718 yr Minnesota's a three... not bad (you're going down CSF!) Edited May 29, 200718 yr by Felix
June 1, 200718 yr Author CSTV has picked up games that are not on TV. From the looks of it, it looks like it'll be free too! This has made my day! CSTV Media Player
June 1, 200718 yr Titans games are on ESPNU baby. If they win today I'm going to San Diego on Sunday, if they lose than I'm going to San Diego on Saturday to catch a game.
June 2, 200718 yr Go UIC (local) and Kent State (MAC), even if they'll both be gone fast. I love watching the CWS though, some great games.
June 2, 200718 yr Author FSU won 6-2. Posey hit a monster shot over the scoreboard in LF. The only other guy to do that (to the best of by knowledge) is Eddy-Martinez Estevez (sp).
June 2, 200718 yr Freaking UIC one hit Long Beach State and beat them 4-1 at their park. I know Long Beach isn't as good as recent years past, but they are a still a 1 and that is pretty impressive.
June 2, 200718 yr Yeah, great for UIC. Wichita State was another number 1 to fall, losing to New Orleans by giving up 3 runs in the 9th. Mizzou won 10-2 with a record crowd, good times.
June 3, 200718 yr Author Black Saturday for College Baseball: No. 1 Seed Vanderbilt loses to Michigan 4-3 No. 4 Seed Texas loses to UC Irvine 3-1 No. 6 Seed FSU loses to Miss. St. 3-0 No. 7 Seed Arkansas loses to Oklahoma State 14-3 No. 8 Seed San Diego is Eliminated by Minnesota 6-5 I was talking to my friend about our loss, and all he said is welcome to FSU postseason baseball. I guess we have a history of doing this. Now we have to beat Stetson and Miss St today, followed by another win against Miss St on Monday. Our pitching staff will be shot.
June 3, 200718 yr QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 10:39 AM) Black Saturday for College Baseball: No. 1 Seed Vanderbilt loses to Michigan 4-3 No. 4 Seed Texas loses to UC Irvine 3-1 No. 6 Seed FSU loses to Miss. St. 3-0 No. 7 Seed Arkansas loses to Oklahoma State 14-3 No. 8 Seed San Diego is Eliminated by Minnesota 6-5 Black Saturday? Haha, you're only saying that because FSU lost. Miss. St. is a very good team, I'm not too surprised, but it also wouldn't surprise me much if FSU was able to bounce back. Also of note is that two Big Ten teams picked up big wins that you listed and Ohio State won their elimination game as well. The conference is 4-2 to start and that is a great record for a so called mid-major in baseball. College baseball really needs the Big Ten and Big East to improve a bit for the sport to become more popular nationally.
June 3, 200718 yr Author Nah, I said Black Saturday because five of the eight national seeds lost, including Vandy. This is FSU baseball I guess. We suck in the postseason.
June 5, 200718 yr QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) Nah, I said Black Saturday because five of the eight national seeds lost, including Vandy. This is FSU baseball I guess. We suck in the postseason. we lost another tough one to michigan....we just burned through too many pitchers this weekend.....price looked dominant in his 1st inning tonight after his 129 pitch outing on friday...but he just didnt have his best fastball and the michigan kid laid into a 3-1 heater.....i gotta give those guys credit, they were one of the best hitting teams i saw all year...every guy had a great approach and they hit the bal the other way with authority better than anyone ive seen this year......just an incredible game either way....alvarez got robbed of a game tying homer in the bot. of 10th...tough loss but mich played well and they got just enough pitching to edge us 4-3 twice this weekend

I kinda think Vandy screwed up pitching Price friday.
June 5, 200718 yr I didn't get home till about 1:30 AM yesterday, but I got to see the Titans take care of business and sweep through to the Super Regionals. It actually turns out we may have lucked out because Long Beach State (who didn't deserve a one seed over UCI, but Long Beach has the better facility to host...ie holds more seats) lost and now Fullerton will get to host the super regional over UCLA (we have a better RPI, history, facility, and won the season series against them so that will give us home field...now we got to take care of business). Keep it up Titans....great pitching so far and more surprisingly some fantastic offense (looks like the bats may be heating up at the right time). I will be in Vegas over the weekend, however, if there is a game on Monday in Fullerton...I will a be there. Sorry about Mizzu Dan. I was hoping we'd somehow meet up in the College World Series.
June 5, 200718 yr QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) Was hoping Vandy would win so I could see Price and Alvarez. I kinda think Vandy screwed up pitching Price friday. They barely won their opener, it went to extras I believe (either extras or they won it in the bottom of the 9th). If Price doesn't go Friday, they lose Friday. He pitched well but Austin Peay's ace was dominant. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) Sorry about Mizzu Dan. I was hoping we'd somehow meet up in the College World Series. Yeah, it was frustrating because they won the first two and all they had to do was take 1 of 2 from Louisville to move on again. They had opportunities to win it last night, but no one could pitch today which was sad. I've never seen the pitching staff collectively suck ass all at once. Next year they should be better with essentially their entire pitching staff and most of their lineup coming back, but they would have hosted supers if they won which would have been amazing.
June 10, 200718 yr Author Michigan's pitcher, Putnam, had a no hitter through 8 2/3 innings. With 2 outs in the 9th, he gave up a single with a guy on 2nd. Oregon State is now winning 1-0.
