June 1, 200718 yr QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 11:50 AM) The Twins were 24-29 and 11 1/2 games back last year. They seem to have won the division if I remember correctly. Joe Mauer Justin Morneau Francisco Liriano Johan Santana Non-bed wetting bullpen We don't have any of the above.
June 1, 200718 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) Why, he's the guy that can bring in the best value and the guy most likely to not be back this season. Well I said that with the intention of the Sox re-signing him. If it is decided that that's not going to happen, then by all means include him. I just think his consistency is something you want to have around the young arms.
June 1, 200718 yr I'll add my 2 cents in. Firstly, I specifically asked WSI to permanently ban me from the site so that I was no longer tempted to waste my time on there - for the reasons others have mentioned. Secondly, although I don't believe this team will make the playoffs now (I didn't before the season either) I still support the team and am going Wednesday night. I'll still watch most games and go to a number of them but if this same play continues thru June, I would rather watch a changing team with an influx of seriously good young talent play out the season than continue to watch a dull team that continually finds a way to lose.

So, you know what? Let's call it a season right now. I say, get the team, coaches, front office, grounds crew, vendors, ticket sellers, everyone and tell them to go home. Why bother playing the next 113 games? I mean, it's probably better to trade players when they aren't playing, that way they won't get hurt, right? Records were made to be broken and stats just give you an idea of what has or could happen. Until the White Sox are mathmatically eliminated from the post-season, I won't give up on them being there. And until the 162nd game of the season is played, I will not stop backing this team, come hell or high water. As John "Bluto" Blutarski so finely said, "Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"..."What the f*** happened to the SoxTalk I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Can, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Ordonez, he's a dead man! Hafner, dead! Morneau...."
June 1, 200718 yr QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) Of course its not over-thats why it can be salvaged by our GM waking up and doing what he should have done last JULY. Fixed that for you.
