I lost faith on the Wednesday Twin game. That game really, really hurt me. I can't really say why, but it felt like my heart was taken out and beaten to a pulp. I'll still root for this team as much as I can, but yea, this season falling further and further away.

You doubt I live up to what? I didn't say anything about leaving. I'll still watch the games. I'll still post my thoughts. But I've been saying for awhile that we aren't very good, and today was the final straw, although this whole damn week has sucked.

I expect for someone to say "the season is over" that person will show less emotion and pay less attention to that team.

Owens will be replacing him, and there is a damn good chance he will do a better job. Erstad and his .316 on base percentage won't be a huge loss.

I think its calming to say "the season is over." It puts your mind at ease. After saying it you, you feel like you've set the bar so low that there can be no let down.

Yeah, I fully expect Owens to have a .350 OBP as the leadoff hitter. No pressure there, you're only coming into a five game losing streak with every writer in Chicago waiting to pounce on KW, Guillen and Walker after every single loss...pretty soon, they're going to be at the point where they fire Walker, simply because that's the way every sports franchise reacts to underachieving/underperformance.

Erstad's a MAJOR loss. It takes a lot to put up an OPS of .680 as an OFer.

 

Worst case scenario: The Sox didn't get any worse today.

 

Best case scenario: They just got better. Maybe now KW will be forced to go out and get a real OFer, and Erstad's injury assures that he won't be back for 2008, which is a big positive for the franchise.

You're right; Ozzie does have far too much say in the transactions made by this organization. That being said, there will come a point (and sooner rather than later, I think) when KW will need to make decisions based on keeping his own job rather than enabling Ozzie.
