The Reason This Team is Bad, and Yes: It's Ozzie's Fault

They're injured enough to play, have egos and the truth is -- what options do we have for most of these guys?

Well, if they're not going to say they're injured, then Ozzie needs to be able to figure that out. How many times have we heard Ozzie say that a player hasn't told them that they were injured? It's happened too much.

The Kansas City Royals will be better than us next year...

It's Kenny Williams fault for abandoning damn near every philosophy that brought them a championship ring in 2005. This offense sucks and even when it's going good it's a station to station offense. There are very few managers in the game that can make "what they have" work. Ozzie certainly isn't one of those. If I owned the team, Kenny has a very short leash and I've already forgotten what happened 2 years ago because this year falls just short of a disaster--and it's dropping that extra inch fast.

Forget about the major league level. The minor league system alone is reason enough for Williams to be fired. Although I suppose I shouldn't sell short the embarrassment of a $100M team finishing behind KC by the time the season ends.

Why are people so quick to dismiss that Ozzie is failing to motivate these players?

are you suggesting that a managerial change is going to turn this season around?

I don't think things could be going worse right now, and Ozzie's done nothing to spark this team. He talks a big game in the press, but where are all these changes?

Lineup changes. What else can he do, publicly? Send some of the crap down for more crap?

I'm sure he's doing more. Privately. Like, in the clubhouse. He should announce that all, though, I guess.

Maybe he needs to reevaluate and explain his GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALS.

I love Colbert.

This team just isn't any good. Blaming the manager for the lack of performance by marginal players and players who should either be complete platoon players, reserves, or minor leaguers is silly. Half the guys on our team should be reserves, in AAA, or DFA.

And the jokers we keep calling up from AAA appear not too impressive.

I totally agree with the posts about how tight ozzie is now--what happened to 2005 ozzie and his sense of humor? I realize that losing makes it harder but for months I've been noticing this.

at this point you just need to play and laugh and roll with it. crap even the yanks look carefree compared to us.

I also agree with the "no horses" argument. the bullpen was kw's creation and nobody thought our veterans like paulie, dye, etc. would fall silent.

we've been hard on ozzie but man with that bullpen and our dead-last offense, what "managing" is there for him to do?

I still have hope we can turn this around. that expires at the asb.

Its amazing to think that we have eight guys on our roster right now who were in the minors to start this season. Ugh.

I've put in a call to the ticket dept asking that my seats prices be pro-rated to the Charlotte admission prices. If I'm going to watch minor leaguers, I should only pay minor league prices.

Or at least 32% of your ticket prices should be based on the Charlotte price... Then again the way that the other 17 guys are playing, you might as well ask for full AAA prices :P
