Heads22
I've been quite encouraged by what I've been seeing, namely, poise and not totally devolving into mayonnaise on the mound. I was never real high on him, but I think he's found a nice home in the Sox pen for the time being.
Brian
I like him as well. Very deceptive and his ball moves.
striker
I like him too. Ozzie screwed him by taking him out too soon in the Redsox game. Of course, he didn't help himself at all by walking a guy.
winninguglyin83
take him over aardsma, sisco, Day, Masset and the other Eckersley Wannabes we've watched soil this season.
TheBigHurt
I also like him. His delivery alone is nice. I just hope that should his decency continue, he doesn't become the Shingo of '07-'08.

BearSox
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) take him over aardsma, sisco, Day, Masset and the other Eckersley Wannabes we've watched soil this season. I don't think we should be so quick to write off Day. He has an above average fastball with some life to go along with a good slider. Heads22
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) I don't think we should be so quick to write off Day. He has an above average fastball with some life to go along with a good slider. He's simply not ready for the majors. But his first name is Amos, so that's automatically two strikes against him. He has an above average fastball with some life to go along with a good slider. I don't think we should be so quick to write off Aardsma either, given his fastball, but who knows what the future shall bring with these guys. You can combine names and say Famous Amos Day, or perhaps just have a flat out Famous Amos Day where they give out cookies. I should so take Brooks' job. Jeremy
The guy's pitched five mediocre innings. I don't know what he's done to distinguish himself from guys like Aardsma or McDougal who have good stuff and have had successful stretches in the majors but haven't been able to get it done this season. Well, that's the remarkable thing about these bullpen guys...bullpen performance is historically so variable from one season to another that it's really hard to be certain about anything. Personally? I'm actually starting to like the situation for next year, given that if nothing else, we have a lot of guys with good arms/stuff to choose from. Aardsma, MMac, Jenks, Thornton, Logan, Day, Haeger, Wasserman, Floyd, etc. And all of them will have had at least a year on this team/in this system to learn a bit, and most of them are starting off with pretty good stuff, so I still find it hard to believe that this bullpen won't step upwards next year just off of the percentages. southsider2k5
I like Ehrin for no other reason than he is completely different than anything else we have in our pen, and as a hitter, you really don't see to many sidearmers in the league. It is something to adjust to, that you don't get a lot of practice seeing as a batter. He could be a nice 6th reliever in our pen.
