It's called opinion. He's still facing professional hitters, I never said because he's dominating in low A ball that he will do that in the majors.

Professional hitters that are probably either

a) Still very young and learning.

B) Just not very good.

If you have read the thread by the White Sox scout and his thoughts on Poreda, you can see why there is a LOT of doubt on him as a prospect.

...well what do you think the first round players drafted are...teams don't pick players who don't have a good shot at the majors....

You mean when a person within the White Sox organization comes onto the board and talks about how the people who scouted Poreda have already been fired and that he was drafted two rounds earlier than he should have been?

The funny thing is that Poreda would have been drafted by quite a few teams in the picks immediate after when the Sox went.

Yea like Poreda would have been drafted in the 3rd round...He most likely wouldn't have been picked more than five picks later.

At this point, if Kenny and the people around him truly believe Poreda was a bad pick and that his arm may go out at any moment due to his motion, I'd turn him into a reliever and have him on the fast track to the bigs. He can be an effective big league reliever if he is hitting 97 on the gun and spotting it reasonably well. If he learns an even average breaking ball or changeup, he could be really good out of the 'pen.

And considering the average value out of the 25th pick in the draft, Poreda turning into a reliever really wouldn't be all that terrible.
