Mother F'ing Gameday sucks. Has been stuck on Webb vs. Quentin for like 15 mins now. A freeze like this is usually a sign of a new pitcher, or new hitter. Im guessing a pitcher, with Webb only getting 2 innings in.

Uribe singles, advances to 2nd on the throwing error. Wild pitch gets him to 3rd. Owens walks, Cabrera then singles in Uribe. Thome then singles in Owens from 2nd. Wild pitch puts O-Cab on 3rd, Thome to 2nd, and then Dye pops out.

I think im getting a little to excited from such a small sample, but I love that Dotel just had a 1-2-3 inning, and his K was on a pitch in the dirt (unless AJ just dropped it). He must have had some sick movement on it.

I was just happy to see MB appearing to have no ill effects from his soreness. 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K. Stats aren't too important, but it appears he is at least healthy.

 

Dotel if healthy is completely nasty.... I was so glad KW got him.

MacDougal in to pitch. THis should be interesting. I'll be very curious to hear Tony's description of his inning.

 

Seems Uribe got a little greedy stretching a double into a triple, but Liefer and Quentin score nonetheless.

There is no way he should make this squad, and you could say that before the Spring. If anyone needed to come out strong out of the gates this spring it was Mac, and he has totally s*** the bed.

Didn't you say a few days ago that he looked pretty bad in intrasquad too?

 

So, I assume the thin air in Arizona isn't an excuse for MacDougal? What seems to be his issue, lack of movement, location or lack of speed on his pitches?

Damn, MacDougal just annoys me. I'm glad Lumsden and Cortes haven't panned out (yet) because I really hated that trade at the time, even though he was good in his stint with us in '06. I guess he reminds me of Billy Koch...less intimidating but a hard, STRAIGHT ball that gets rocked.

 

How in the world did Thome get a SB? I would have thought that the day I saw Thome get a SB, he would have been traded and running against the battery of Contreras and Pierzynski.

I'm sure it was some kind of botched play. I'd guess a 3-2 count where we struck out and the catcher missed the ball. No way it was a clean steal. If it was, Oz should be fired for having Jimmy voluntarily run.
