Sox vs. Cubs bet I made with coworker

Featured Replies

I am thinking i have this one easy +5-10 barring injury. Thoughts?

I may also have a bet with total number of Sox pitchers to start a game, Cubs fan wants the over at 11.

7-8 AT THE MOST FOR SOX STARTERS

Not sure how you can say that; Contreras is almost sure to take a DL stint, one of Floyd and Danks is likely to flop this year, and if one of those two do, one of the replacements is like to flop as well. I'd say over/under at 10.5 or 11.5 is probably pretty good.

The best bet.

1 dollar per win difference.

Best way to make 20 bucks usually.

fukudome has yet to show any power in ST to me watching him, Swish should hit 30 at least.

I'm fairly certain that Fukudome didn't hit more than 30 homers in a season in Japan.

Okay, he's done it twice -- 34 looks to be his high. He's what, 31, and coming to a much more difficult league. If I were you I'd put as much money as your co-worker is willing to go with this one -- I'd say the only way Swisher doesn't hit more homers than Fukudome is if Swisher gets hurt (which can be said about any sports-related bet). Bet the house, the mortgage, the kids -- bet it all, man.

If they both stay healthy there is no doubt swisher will hit more homers.

Iguchi also hit 30 homers and 27 in Japan and never really came close to that in the US and transferred here around the same age. I would bet on Nick beating out Fukudome by at least 8 HR if not more.

I don't think ANY Japanese players have come close to their totals during their first year in the US. I would bet Swisher HARD.

i made that stupid bet last year, no way again.

despite the fact the sox are the better team, the cubbs will outwin us easily

they should win around 90 if were lucky 83-84

I am going to LOVE watching Cubs fans squirm when they see he isnt going to hit much more than 20 HRs and they paid him a boat load of money.

So, you lost $13.

You'd have won $24 in '06, won $31 in '05, lost $6 in '04, lost $8 in '03, won $14 in '02, lost $5 in '01, and won $30 in 2000.

That's a net profit of $67 since 2000.

I just wanted to note that I was going to make a joke off of this post because of the use of the word "HARD," but then I decided against it because it probably would've sounded racist and gotten me suspended. It would've been funny, though.
