Yankees Dig Up Concrete At New Yankee Stadium

Featured Replies

Apparently the Yankess went into full panic mode regarding the Red Sox jersey buried in the foundation by a dumbass worker who blabbed about it, and they have now found and unearthed the jersey.

I wouldn't call it panic mode. If the Sox were building a new stadium and somebody put a Tigers or Cubs jersey in the foundation, I'd expect us to do the same thing to get rid of the poison.

You guys have to watch the video attached to that. Hilarious.

This is a HUGE story in NYC. The post actually ran a front page full cover story about it on Friday, and when the story broke it was also front page, although it was just a sidebar.

I don't think you can underestimate how much people love baseball on the east coast. Coming from the midwest it's been a great shock. Baseball is king here and even the Giants' championship keeps football a very distant 2nd.

Today I was playing ultimate frisbee in prospect park and like 3-4 of the guys on my team got into a very in depth conversatino about the mets and phillies this year. It's so great to see baseball so loved. s***, you can't swing a dead cat in NYC without hitting someone in a Mets or Yankees cap.

If the Sox did act that way, I would seriously have to re-consider being a fan.

The guy who did this is a moron. He went to work there, for one day, just to do this. Its cub-fan like.

I don't know if that's generally true about the East. The Eagles are king in Philly (although the Phils are big, too -- everyone knows how Philadelphia fans are), the Ravens and Redskins in Baltimore and Washington (though of course the Nats are pretty new). And I think many Jets fans would disagree. It just depends on the area.

The fact that this is a "major" story provides yet another reason to hate everything that is Red Sox/Yankees.

I'm shocked that Baseball Tonight didn't devote the entire hour about this.

I just liked it where the moron and Hank Steinbrenner were verbally sparring through ESPN's anchor and the anchor has to keep a straight face while reporting it.

Steinbrenner: "His construction guys should have kicked his ass over that."

Moron: "Tell him that I'm going to kick his ass!"

:lolhitting "definitely a hero in Sox nation"

Stories like these and the fact they get media coverage are among the main reasons why so many people hate America.
