May 6, 200817 yr OK so here's the deal. I'm hoping this motivates me more, but I'm suffering from college senioritus or whatever. Normally I'm not a procrastinator but I have been lately. The end of my semester is Thursday at 1. By that time I need to have 35 pages of double spaced papers done. I have 3 one page reflections which will not be hard to do, roughly a 10 page reflection on my environmental class which shouldn't be too hard either, just long. So 13 pages won't require any research. The other 22 will however. I have to write a 15 page paper on the Big Men Theory along with the Queen Bee Theory and make up my own theory and stuff. The other paper is a 12 page paper that I have done 5 pages on already about the Waterloo, Iowa budget. The more I look at this the more impossible it seems so I'm writing this as extra motivation to get done with it all by 1 on Thursday. Basically I have 46 hours to get done with 35 pages while studying for a final tomorrow, which I'll have to study for roughly 2 hours or so. Good luck to me! haha.
May 6, 200817 yr Well you need to do this or you will be shunned by all.And you will RUIN THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.To make yourself feel successful you will commit the rest of your days bringing up your post count. So stop procrastinating!
May 6, 200817 yr I am a procrastinator too, but I do something that seems to help. All I do is set my own deadlines. I'm hard enough on myself to stick to those. So say I have something do in 30 days, I will write in my calendar for 15 days that a draft has to be done, etc... It has worked well for me.
May 6, 200817 yr Author 32 pages to go in 43 hours, I'm soaring!!! I need to deactivate my facebook and soxtalk accounts for the next 2 days, haha.

May 7, 200817 yr Author With 20 hours I go I have to write 20 pages. 13 are based on reflections so I should be able to get 3 or even 4 done in an hour. I had to study for a test last night so I got even more behind on my papers.

May 8, 200817 yr Author 3 pages to go in an hour, this is going to be close. I might not have time for proofreading my last paper. Can I do it? I think so we shall see though. I'm taking a quick 2 minute break to give everyone an update, haha. I'll come back later this afternoon and say whether I did it or not.
May 8, 200817 yr Sorry I didn't post in here earlier, I've been putting it off the last few days. In all seriousness though, senioritis is normal. You'll be fine.
May 8, 200817 yr FWIW, when I was working on a career pathways project for the So Tex Manufacturers Association, one of the skills that was mentioned that distionquished most college grads from non grads was the ability to function under deadlines. So while you were learnin' whatever, you were also developing a life skill. (at least that is what you can tell your parents) One of the differnces between being in college when I was 19 and today, is I almost never wind up in those time crunches. Just like I now fear the hangover, I fear the too many projects and too little time.
May 8, 200817 yr You can make mashed potatoes by throwing them at a wall, but I prefer mine made in a bowl.
