Last person I want batting in this situation.

Sad to agree with this.

And there's the K.

Awful, he missed that last pitch by a foot! If Ozzie had any balls, he would have had Dye hit for him.

Im officially sick of Thome

We don't deserve to win this game.

Or Hall for Pierz...

He doesn't do the little things that help you win a game in late innings.

How close to being homers were the deep fly outs by AJ and Swisher last inning?

Didn't see AJ's. Swisher's wasn't even close.

Neither one even got a "STRETCH" from Hawk.

Another brutal offensive game for Swisher. He has the same amount of errors as he does homers.

Swisher has been the biggest bust on the team this year (by far). What an awful month and a half.

He was great the first two weeks. His swing from the left side is atrocious. He can't hit it hard because his hands get so far out in front of him.

These innings are a little easier to stomach when they go in order like they did just there. It's weak but at least you don't see the bacon streaks on their pants when they have to hit with runners on.

I am starting to worry a little that he might have been on the juice. I mean his HR numbers already fell off last year. And I've been seeing a lot of warning track power this season.

I want Thome out of the 3 spot. Swap him and Dye.

so far the only things that have made the Swisher and Cabrera trade's "stomach-able" has been the facts that Contreras has somehow not been awful, and none of Garland, Sweeney, DLS, or Gio have done much either. However, Sweeney has just barely outperformed Swisher.

Garland's ERA is 4.30...that's not bad at all. If anything, hopefully OC improves in order to lock up the A slot for draft comp.

Stop denying it. We all know we are going to re-sign him before the year ends, whether we like it or not. I predict a 3 year deal around 21 mil.

please tell me dye is ph for thome

Thome is clutch.

At least he won't be batting in the 9th. What a waste of the 3rd spot. Great game for OC.

He also has 12K in over 52IP, and thats in the s***ty AL West.

Yet, the only division without a 20 game winner is...

It's becoming increasingly difficult to defend Thome....

His comments in the paper today make you wonder if he's starting to doubt himself.

Yes, that's good, but he can't strike anyone out anymore it looks like. Only 12 K's in over 50 innings of pitching. He's never been a big K guy, but that is pitiful. He's on pace for about 50 for the season.

I already see it as a for-gone conclusion that Thome will be back with us next season... however, I hope next year we have Quentin in the 3-hole, with Thome in the 5 hole (with some righty on the bench who kills lefties to platoon with him).
