6/14/08 Rox v. Sox

If Konerko were to go on the DL and Swisher to 1B during that time, who backs up Swisher? Fields doesn't play 1B, even though I think he should be learning that position, and they don't want to use Thome there. Owens is an OF'er and we really don't need an added OF'er.

Probably either Uribe or Ozuna, and possibly Dye in a pinch.

My guess is that Owens would be called up, play CF, and move Swish to first.

Although Owens' season average isn't great, he's been on a pretty good roll recently (over .300 for last 20 games).

Then I would imagine the Sox would probably lead off with JO... move OC down to #2 and drop AJ down to 6 or 7.

And on days that BA plays CF, OC will lead off, etc, just like they're doing now.

(They're not going to bring up Fields to experiment with him at 1B.... extremely doubtful. They need him to work on not striking out and improving his 3B defense.)

Would it be out of the question to call Cook up?
