If you have zero read on a pitcher, why even go on the first move?

Linebrink has never been a closer in his career, yet we are going to give him opportunities over Dotel and Thornton? I say go with match ups. Boone vs. lefties.

I honestly can't see why Oz doesn't leave Matt in or bring in Booner against the lefty.

Dotel was used in the right place though today. We really needed a K and got it.

Ellis scares me here, as he's a good fastball hitter and Linebrink doesn't have a good offspeed pitch against righties.

Well, it was a play that could have been made. Not sure if it was error worthy though.

The fact that Boone is not in facing Cust pisses me off.

Ugh, Logan should really be in to face Cust. I can't believe Ozzie hasn't learned that Linebrink can't pitch in the 9th inning. This is just terrible managing.

The last 3 times now we've brought in Linebrink for the save it's been an experiment. You'd think Ozzie would have figured that out already.

Given his long time history, yes.

 

This year, it's no surprise.

It was a very tough play, especially with his lack of balance on the play. I'd say given his position on the play, it would have been pure luck had he made it.
