"the last 50 years" puts us past "start of the Vietnam war," so I'm not sure what other strategic mistake could really rival it.

If we want to talk about judgment mistakes by Hillary I continue to be open to that. For example, I've voted against her previously and will probably still vote against her again due to her incorrect judgment on the worst strategic mistake the United States has made in the last 50 years, perhaps in its whole history depending on how things shake out in that part of the world over the next few decades.

Compared to that act of poor judgment, "having her own email server so she can use both work and private email on the same address while following poorly written state department rules" doesn't measure up at all.

Why did she lie about it then?

On the bolded, come on now. You mean the Iraq War? It's bad she supported it, no argument there, as it was clearly a very stupid idea from the start. But your hyperbole here is really something else.

Stupidest, worst strategic decision in the last 50 years? 100% accurate, because 50 years ago was 1965 and the move to invade Vietnam had already been taken by that point and that's the only one I've got any time that century that rivals it. A further collapse of the middle east such that we're drawn back in to fight Isis and in a permanent occupation or unleashing of additional terrorism on the US Mainland now that Isis has the lone wolf citizen formula figured out could easily push that debacle past Vietnam, because they're really close - with Vietnam we just got out of the way and didn't really have anything major bite us back afterwards.

It appears Sanders is now leading in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Still quite early, but interesting nonetheless. If Biden jumps in, I'm not sure which of Sanders or Clinton he hurts more, might be evenly split.

Iran-Contra...Panama....Libya....Somalia/Rwanda under Clinton? Grenada?

The CIA executing three foreign leaders wasn't so good, either.

Hard to beat Vietnam, but we'll need another 20-30 years for more perspective on the Middle East.

I'm not sure what that's even supposed to mean. Is it okay to make derogatory marks about a female candidate's physical appearance and say you wouldn't vote for her because she's ugly? Was what Trump said somehow not offensive?

Different then the millions of hair and toupee jokes that have been thrown at Trump?

Yes?

Yes?

Other than the gender involved, how?

What hair/toupee jokes have other candidates made about Trump?

Well, that's really the key difference. Women are routinely judged much more than men on their physical appearance, and Trump outright said he wouldn't vote for her because of the way she looks (before later backpedaling like the bold truth-teller that he is).

That tu quoque doesn't really address the issue, though.

edit: also, what Crimson said. This is the current front-runner of the GOP primary tossing around insults about anyone whom he sees as the opposition left and right.

edit2: it will be just as s***ty of him if/when he starts making Christie fat jokes. The guy is just an asshole and a bully with the maturity of a 5th grader.

Oh, so two wrongs make a right?

It's totally relevant. Pointing out a double standard when it comes to offensive speech proves how ridiculous we've become with what is/is not offensive. I guarantee you there are people out there who think Trump looks like an idiot and therefore wouldn't vote for him.

Trump is an idiot, and I won't vote him, but this is a huge double standard.

Christie is fat and I think it's 100% ok for him to call him out on it. Gluttony should not be a key trait of the President of the United States.

This only makes sense if you can point to Fiorina making fun of trump's hair. If anything it cuts against what you're saying because other people making fun of Trump's hair isn't an excuse for sexist insults against Fiorina.

You're not pointing out a double standard. You're attempting to excuse Trump being an asshole to a rival female candidate and insulting her looks by pointing to other people making fun of Trump's comb-over.

All I care about with a candidate with an issue like that is the potential health ramifications. He should, like most candidates, release full physical results and I might look a little more closely at who his VP pick is than a person who does not have such a health concern. I'd say the same thing about a person in their late 60s/early 70s. With Chris Christie, it isn't unreasonable for the public to know his cholesterol numbers, for example; if he doesn't want to share them he shouldn't run for that position.

Beyond that, I care about things like policies and decision making ability. His efforts to ensure that the economy of New Jersey is destroyed in the next 20 years or so, possibly less, when the train tunnels to New York actually fail or are shut down for repairs with no other option, is a much bigger stupid decision.

I think you can call the guy an asshole, unprofessional, un-Presidential, etc. and I'd agree with you. But the fact that he makes fun of a woman's looks doesn't instantly make him a sexist pig either.

Yeah, it pretty much does.

Getting offended at personal attacks between candidates while theyre campaigning against each other is pretty absurd. Have you seriously not seen worse things said than this before? Meanwhile youre doing exactly what Trump wants you to do by overreacting to comments he makes and making stories out of them so people are constantly talking about him.

I am not personally offended by Trump's assholery. But I can't say that I've seen leading presidential primary candidates saying this sort of stuff before, no.

Well keep digging, you might even be able to get this guy elected. Good luck.

I'm not sure about the impact of me posting on a Chicago White Sox message board will have on Trump's candidacy one way or the other.
