Yeah, that. Winning Ugly is very fitting for these past two nights.

Oh, and that Dotel character is pretty darned good with the game on the line.

I secretly root for KC, except when they play the Sox. Playing there cannot be what the players dreamed about. I guess you just take that nice fat check and live it up....and it beats selling insurance or used cars.

On an 0-1 pitch to Dye, OC stole 3rd, Dye swung and missed, then struck out swinging.

So that's what a closer looks like! Great job by the pen...AGAIN!

Nice to see Q break out of his mini-slump.

Not sure what happened with OC and Dye...but I have a suspicion that it was JD just being pouty JD because he's sucked at the plate the last few days.

CQ is a terrible interview "I put some swings on some balls and they got out." for real?! haha I still love him though.

Caused a little bit of friction in the booth between Hawk and Feisty, too.

This team has such an edge in good ways and bad, you would think Billy Martin was steering this ship. Seems to be working for now, though.

he just doesnt like talking about himself, cant hate him for it. The guy is great.

Anyways was it ever mentioned why OCab was steaming in the dugout after he scored. I was watching but with the volume down, if anyone knows fill me in. :headbang

Edit: I guess some people have explained it already, but looks like no one knows forsure

what do you mean?

BTW Swish in the 2-hole is nice. I like the OBP, and the patience.

Thome looked good past couple of days, I hope it's here to stay.

The Vulture is amazing

Where can I buy an '83 Winning Ugly t-shirt?

Contreras was kind of standing in front of OC bodying him back. All I know if I heard OC say "Mother F***er".

How did we win ugly? We came back from 5 runs down, hit a couple HR (Q), got a few clutch knocks (Lexi, Thome), and a break (the balk). The bullpen was lights out, too.

I didn't catch the incident. What were hawk and dj arguing about?

I have one in a drawer back at my folks home. From back when I was about 60 pounds lighter. :crying

I did just buy this sweet vintage WU truckers hat on eBay though

Hey, It's the 25th anniversary of one of the best summers of my life!

Well if Dye started that argument, then he is completely wrong. OC had that base stolen by 30 feet, and getting to 3rd with only 1 out as the tying run is a big deal. Plus, the pitch Dye swung at was clearly a ball. I can't imagine OC would start an argument over stealing a base himself either, so on the surface, it looks like Dye had the problem and he's completely wrong. Just surprised at that, but this team has overcome turmoil all season, so it's not too big a deal IMO.

As for the win, it looked a lot like last night, except we were handed the balk and didn't need extra innings. The golden sombrero for Paulie is not so good, and Javy was horrible, but kudos to OC, Q, Thome, Alexei, Swish, and the pen. It won't be easy against Greinke, but hopefully Buehrle is on tomorrow and we get a sweep. Nice to see somebody other than Jenks can close too, Dotel was nasty.

Hawk said OC had nothing to apologize for because he got himself in position to score on a sac fly with one out.

Feisty said he understood why JD would be annoyed by OC jumping around out by second base.

Hawk said we needed the run and we got it.

advantage hawk
