Great approach by AJP!! Could have done without the stretch on a fly ball that was 20 feet short from being a homer.

I think its worth mentioning that Cabrera isn't a leadoff hitter. I don't think he's ever led off in his career. From what I understand, hitters hate leading off, no one wants to do it.

I'll take it if it produces a run.

Getting runs in = Good thing

1-0 Sox....with the way Danks is pitching, it might be enough

I don't think so. Even without Manny, they're still the Boston Red Sox and I can't remember the last time we won a 1-0 game.

BTW, I'll give Ozzie credit by not calling for the bunt from OC.

Only if he can go 8.

7 will do.

One of my biggest pet peeves with Hawk has been when he goes "hey Mark, there's your run". Usually, the Sox pitcher gives up 3 runs in the next inning. I don't believe he said that tonight.

Whats the latest on Crede's back and Liney's arm??? How much longer without them?

I'd be pleasantly surprised if both are back this season.

Me too. I'm OK with Uribe at 3rd, but Linebrink is a huge loss.

Absolutely...it's not even close.

I wish we would have gave Fields more of a shot.

Nasty change...Danks is dealing tonight.

It's that 2005 part of me I'm sure, but it's Uribe's time. Cant believe it but playing Juan is the proper 'win now' move.

im guessing Linebrink will back around September 1st... If its only a muscle thing like everyone says, sometimes that can take a good month or so to re-strengthn itself naturally. I think Crede is done for sure... and with the way Uribe is playing its not as big of a loss as people think.

From sonsofsamhorn:

this is the least interesting Red Sox team in five years. and when they nothing again this offseason to improve the team, the sellout streak may come to an end.

and when the payroll is at $100M and the record is .500, then what? Because the team they have today is a .500 team

and...how many wins do they have again? wow.

haha. IMO the Red Sox are better than the White Sox.

Their fans have been so spoiled by those payrolls

Liney is that bad? I thought it was originally just "arm fatigue" and then it was some form of "dead arm". Did I miss something?

Thats what I thought too, but I haven't heard anything positive about his return.

Beckett is on tonight...damn!...but so is Danks!

Why am I drawing a blank on what bet Hawk lost?

Danks just threw not one, not two, but three straight change-ups to get Bay.

The other JD lookin real good.
