October 6, 200817 yr He is booed because he doesn't seem to care. He'll give up 7 and get taken out in the 5th, calmly walk back to the dugout and sit on the bench like nothing happened. Burrly had some bad outings this year, but not a chance in hell you'd see him booed because you know he left it all out there (and he attacks the heater with a bat )
October 6, 200817 yr All of you people saying he doesn't care must have missed or are intentionally ignoring his confrontation with AJ. He was fired up, he just sucks.

October 6, 200817 yr QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) All of you people saying he doesn't care must have missed or are intentionally ignoring his confrontation with AJ. He was fired up, he just sucks. That was more likely AJ telling him to stop being a pooshy and him responding that he isn't one and has 30 million dollars.

Keep dreaming. It seems everyone wants to point their finger at Javy and say something is wrong. Its easy to do and I find it fairly annoying. The guy just sucks, give it a rest.

October 6, 200817 yr I never liked the trade from the beginning, but I rooted for him, and still will as long as he's with the Sox. If I was there I wouldn't have booed him, but I can understand why he is getting booed. The guy can't be effective in a big game. I remember earlier this year he got the 6th or 7th with a no hitter, might've been a perfect game at the time and we lost after he gave up a monsterous inning. When the pressure gets to him, he doesn't perform. Edited October 6, 200817 yr by WilliamTell
October 6, 200817 yr QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) All of you people saying he doesn't care must have missed or are intentionally ignoring his confrontation with AJ. He was fired up, he just sucks. Or some believe the confrontation was AJ telling him to care and he got pissed because he just doesn't. Let's look at what Javy has done this season Only losing record of a regular Sox starter Highest ERA Most Runs Most strikeouts But we could coddle him and hold him close to our chest and tell him it will be ok and we love him, even if he gags up an ERA of 12.46, if y'all think that's what he needs.

Its pretty ridiculous to assume one knows so very much that they can't possibly know. That's basically what everyone is doing. Edited October 6, 200817 yr by MAX
October 6, 200817 yr He would get batteries thrown at him in New York. I think his days are numbered here unless he comes back and pitches a shutout in a world series game. Its day to day.
October 6, 200817 yr QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) Its pretty ridiculous to assume one knows so very much that they can't possibly know. That's basically what everyone is doing. So are you arguing that he doesn't suck and he does care?
October 6, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) So are you arguing that he doesn't suck and he does care? I am just saying we shouldn't assume he doesn't care. I think he cares. The fact that he sucks is undeniable.
October 6, 200817 yr QUOTE (aboz56 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) I was there. And booing. If I felt like he was giving us 110% every time out there, I wouldn't boo. But I just can't cheer for someone who seems content with mediocrity. Personally, I would not have booed if I were there, but this a good point nonetheless.
October 6, 200817 yr A guy who is pretty much a .500 lifetime pitcher sux? Wow. Nope Javy is a lifetime 5th starter. It's frustrating because we all see that with his stuff, he should be better, but he's not and never will be. Is that his fault? Maybe. The real fault lies in teams expecting him and paying to do more.
October 6, 200817 yr QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:07 AM) Danks mentioned this on his interview on the Score this morning. Really disappointing. We're all frustrated with him, no doubt. But why upset this guy when he's probably going to be coming out of the pen in Game 4 or 5 and is going to give everything he's got, even if it isnt a ton this late in the year. Also 208 IP during the regular season and got some important quality starts mid Aug to mid Sept. Plus coming back next year. I mean what could possibly be the good of booing him. Be disappointed, no need to prove it. We're about the nicest fans there are in baseball. Very rarely do we boo anyone in this team, yet when we do, we're the bad guys? Heck, if Vasquez was still with the likes of the Yankees he would be shedding tears. Let the fans react to a player who has showed nothing to prove that he is worthy of starting in October baseball.

He was fired up, he just sucks. Agreed. He cares there is no doubt and he is as upset as anyone, maybe more so, that he can't deliver when needed. He sure has the talent.
October 6, 200817 yr If I were there, I'd have booed louder than anyone. But, I don't think that's news here. Yoda, perfectly said.
October 6, 200817 yr QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 02:53 PM) I am just saying we shouldn't assume he doesn't care. I think he cares. The fact that he sucks is undeniable. He has provided prove he cares, he cares about the millions he will have as he sits on the beach. That was his quote, no guess on anyone's part. I generally agree about making some of these assumptions, but this seems pretty obvious.
