Obama's Grandmother Passes Away

Featured Replies

My condolences. He had said he didnt think she would make it to election day. She missed Obama becoming president by 36 hours. How sad. :(

You know, that really does suck. I really have to think that she'd been ecstatic to see her grandson in his finest moment. It's too bad she couldn't have lasted until at least Wednesday.

:pray for her.

That is sad.

Wow, tough timing. She seems to have lived a great life and her offspring is a testament to that.

Well, her grandson and family could not have made her prouder. It's too bad she didn't get to see the day, but nonetheless, she had to be proud.

Yeah, it's pretty sad, she almost lived to see the whole thing. Although at this point, it hardly matters. How many people get to live to see their grandkids take a convincing poll lead into the day before Election Day?

One fewer than get to see them win.

Godspeed.

Sad news and terrible timing. If Barack wins it will be bittersweet for him but it sucks for him to have it on his mind during this time.

FWIW, according to the laws of the state of Hawaii, as long as she did not pass before her absentee ballot was received and processed by the state, her vote should still be counted.
