I know the polls/questionnaires that have been released that you are referring to with that, so i understand how ignorant some people truly are. However, Palin has a college degree. It's still hard, and almost unfathomable, for me to believe that someone of her age, with her education, and her current and former jobs, to truly not know Africa isnt a country. I could be wrong, but its just really hard for me to buy.

I've heard that, but I find it truly hard to believe. The GOP is probably trying to really to discredit her even more so there is no chance she thinks about running in 2012. I just have a hard time believing any 44 year old with any sort of decent education or IQ is not aware that Africa is a continent and not a country.

What makes me laugh is all the people who dislike Palin are running around saying "see?!?!" ...

 

I don't like her either, but this is just nonsense. It's called "hit pieces".

So basically, we're discussing that there is now more evidence of what most people already knew - that Palin was a disaster of a pick, and that she clearly wasn't ready for the world stage.

 

Nothing new to see here.

 

I do agree with others who have said that McCain allowed his campaign to take on too much life without him. His campaign was not him, especially the last couple months. Not that that is a defense of McCain, because, that's not a real good indicator of how he'd run an administration.

Having gone through a state school as an undergrad, I think there's more than a few people who went through IU who couldn't answer that question. Just some of the memories I have, like the person in biology who said that we shouldn't care about any of this because the sun is just going to expand and destroy the earth anyway. Or the existence of math 001, which was basically the math I did in 7th grade.

How do those people get INTO college? And not just some podunk CC, but a state flagship school?

Who the heck is saying "see?!?!?!", and what exactly are they "seeing"? I see more of an appalled reaction more than anything else. Even the folks I know that really, REALLY "hated" her aren't saying "see..." And whatever you want to call it, it was fed from the horses mouth. They wrecked her and she did more to help them than to stop them.

I read one guy's paper that left me wondering how he possibly could've made it into a 300-level course, he almost did nothing right. He didn't even start off with a thesis, have a conclusion, or even take a side on a persuasive paper, it was indescribably bad, and that's not even taking into account that there was other, more minor stuff wrong with it like writing in the first person, bad grammar, not in MLA format, etc. And I reviewed this other woman's paper who didn't even try to get to 2000 words, she just stopped at 650 and turned it in.

Unless of course she invited me to spend a weekend with her in the hot springs of Alaska, in which case I would defend her til death for fulfilling my hot librarian/school teacher fantasy.

I just think most of us are political junkies who enjoy every piece of knowledge we didn't know about the campaigns we followed so closely for over a year.
