The New York Yankees have acquired center fielder-first baseman Nick Swisher in a trade with the Chicago White Sox, baseball sources tell ESPN.com.

Minor league pitcher Jeff Marquez is headed to Chicago in the deal, the source said. It's uncertain if any other players are involved.

Swisher, 27, hit .219 with 24 home runs in 153 games with Chicago this season.

B & B are saying Swisher to NYY for a package, only name mentioned is a minor league pitcher named Marquez...

Hope Sox didn't sell low on a 28 year old with a decent career

I don't get this one, by the way. Marquez best be quite impressive.

Hmmm. Seems a bit low.

Marquez absolutely sucks. He K'd 33 in 80 innings last year.

Great, so we traded 3 of our top prospects for one year of terrible baseball and nothing in terms of prospects. This also means Konerko is going nowhere.

f***ing hate it.

what the hell.

WTF? There better be someone else included... I can't believe this is it, KW is smarter than this.

Konerko, Thome or Dye all should have been traded instead of Swisher

Hope they got more, Swisher's first couple few years were solid

I have a feeling that's going to happen

This has Kenny written all over it... got a former 1st rounder who's stock has dropped, and Marquez is a sinkerballer too...

Melky?

There has to be something else although Swisher was god awful and still has $24 million left on his "reasonable" contract. If this "prospect" is all they got back, the Swisher trade of last winter probably will go down as KW's worst so far.

IF this is true i am absolutley furious. There are no excuses for this Kenny. None.

cant listen live to the score through their website anymore?

There must be more moves in the works. You don't just give away a guy like Swisher without other stuff in the works.
