May 31, 200916 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:14 AM) I suggest you look at Austin Wood's pitching line for a bit more amazement. 13 IP... 2 H, 14 K - Outing of a lifetime for that kid. And Texas takes the lead with their 1st run in the last 23 innings. Ha! When was the last time you heard that in regards to one game? Edited May 31, 200916 yr by dasox24
May 31, 200916 yr QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 31, 2009 -> 01:57 AM) 13 IP... 2 H, 14 K!!! Outing of a lifetime for that kid. I believe that was 169 pitches, as well.
May 31, 200916 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:58 AM) I believe that was 169 pitches, as well. Gotta love that kid giving everything he had... And Virginia just shutout UC Irvine 5-0! And ballgame... 3-2 Texas after 25 innings. Edited May 31, 200916 yr by dasox24
May 31, 200916 yr Fullerton gets to go for the kill tomorrow. Hopefully they take care of business so I can buy my super regional tickets next week.
May 31, 200916 yr How the hell is Texas gonna have anything left for today's game? They're fortunate they have probably the deepest collection of quality arms in the country.
May 31, 200916 yr I feel bad for Ohio State. It is 20-0 FSU in the 3rd inning. There isn't a mercy rule in tournament play either.
May 31, 200916 yr QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ May 31, 2009 -> 04:34 PM) I feel bad for Ohio State. It is 20-0 FSU in the 3rd inning. There isn't a mercy rule in tournament play either. FSU just put up an 11-spot in the 5th, its 32-2 now...wow
May 31, 200916 yr They're trying to get the game shortened to 7 but they're awaiting word from the NCAA if they can do it. Wow, the NCAA isn't allowing it. To the 8th we go. Edited May 31, 200916 yr by chimpy2121
June 1, 200916 yr 37-6. 37 runs. yikes. after the final out they looked like they were at a funeral... no excitement whatsoever. respectfully didn't want to rub the 31 run beat down in any further.
June 1, 200916 yr Arkansas' pitcher has a no hitter going through 8. FSU scored 37 runs. Both teams will meet next weekend. The Arkansas pitcher lost it on an infield single with 1 out in the 9th. Edited June 1, 200916 yr by chimpy2121
June 1, 200916 yr This has been a wild weekend of games. 37 runs scored by one team in one game... 25 innings in one game... Strasburg losing...
June 2, 200916 yr QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) I feel bad for Ohio State. It is 20-0 FSU in the 3rd inning. There isn't a mercy rule in tournament play either. f*** that. I wished your boys wouldve dropped 40 on Ohio State. I love seeing OSU get worked over. That Arkansas series should be fun. I see a lot of runs this weekend in Tallahassee.
June 6, 200916 yr Bahahaa....Florida State choked big time...gave up 5 runs on 2 hits and are no losing, fater having a 5-1 lead. Since I hate all things FSU, lets go Arkansas
June 6, 200916 yr That FSU batter just had such a clutch hit. 2 outs in the 9th, 2 strikes in the count, and he knocks in 2 runs to tie the game. FSU now in the lead 8-7. And Virginia made a hell of a comeback as well. Carraway did a great job coming in as a reliever to keep Ole Miss from scoring for a few innings until the UVA offense could get something going. Matt Packer with a clutch performance (coming in with 1 out and a man on 3rd), allowing no runs for the Save. 4-3 UVA. If Game 3 is anything like these 1st 2 games, it will be an exciting one to watch.
June 7, 200916 yr Fullerton might have had the easiest road to Omaha in the history of college baseball.
