What's up with Kansas? That's 3 surprisingly mediocre/poor performances in a row.

 

 

They are young, inexperienced and clueless away from AFH.

I'd love to see Valpo product Scott Drew and Baylor manage a second round upset and beat Kansas.

Even ISU is recruiting decently well. The two players coming in next year are a 4* PG Chris Colvin from Chicago and the #2 JUCO recruit in the nation per ESPN, Marquis Gilstrap.

I never put much credence in JUCO recruits. KU has the 1 and 2 best this year, and they suck for the most part.

I predicted weeks back that Kansas locked themselves into a 2 seed with the win over Oklahoma on the road, provided they DON'T bow out with a huge upset in the first round of the Big XII tournament. Not only did the ytoung Jayhawks manage to do that yesterday, but also got trounced in Lubbock last week.... and they'll still most likely grab a 2. Funny after everyone was reacting to the Izzo claim that Michigan State should be a No 1 if they were to win the Big 10 tourney, most if not all "experts" turned around and said they would give that 1 to Kansas over MSU, even though they beat them suring the reg season. All a mute point now...

It would be a shock if Missouri doesn't win this tournament now considering how much better they are than everybody left in the tournament, even with the tournament not in Columbia. What a strange tournament this has been.

The Kansas part isn't that surprising, that could still change. OU dropping to a 3 is pretty shocking. I would imagine if Duke loses today or Memphis doesn't win their tourney, OU has a good case to get back in the 2 spot. Wake and Nova have a chance to move up to 2s with big weekends. Kansas is hoping more s*** doesn't go down, I'd say it's 50/50 they actually get a 2 when it's all said and done.

 

Meanwhile, Jerry Palm has OU as a 2 and Kansas as a 3.

I've heard planty of "experts" talk about a possible Michigan State 1 seed if things break right for them. I must being missing all the Kansas as a 1 seed talk even before their loss to Baylor. They may be able to get a 2 seed, but I would have no problem accepting a wager that they will not be a 2 seed now. 3 seems right, but their is probably more of a chance that they get a 4 seed then a 2 seed.

 

The baracketology 101 site, which had the best numbers for hitting seeds correctly last year has Kansas at a 4 seed, but they have Missouri as a 3 which is a bit shocking to me.

I was thinking more of a REALLY good team from the year before (ISU finished #3) losing it's best player, but playing well the next year thanks to an experienced point guard, but losing some momentum down the stretch, losing in the first round to Baylor, and eventually blowing it in the first round to some MEAC school.

Baylor is a good story.

Teams on the bubble everywhere will be wearing their Mizzou hats they don't own on Saturday. Baylor is such a weird team, I don't get how they were so bad in Big 12 play with the talent they have.
