This is a toughie! I gotta go with Ed Walsh though. 40 wins and 464 innings in 1 season!

too hard to vote, you have to consider black jack, or even lamar hoytt, ed walsh, but if i had too i may vote for billy pierce.

If you vote, tell everyone who you voted for! Also, specify who the "other" is.

Cy Loaiza by far, just kidding.

Not to mention the lowest career ERA ever.

1.82? No one will ever touch that. There were some great pitchers that could do that in a season....but over a career? No chance.

RHP - Ed Walsh

LHP - Billy Pierce

Why can't todays bigger, stronger, handsomer and more talented pitchers pitch 464 innings?

Bobby Thigpen baby!

I voted for Black Jack. Walsh and Faber were great but they did play in the dead ball era. And Cicotte was good but because of what he did he shouldnt even be there...

Because they don't know how to pitch with a torn labrum and a f***ed up elbow. They're not preparing properly. I mean, weight lifting? Creatine? What the hell is that s***? The only way to be a great pitcher and throw 464 innings is to drink a lot of beer. Duh

Ted Lyons not on list?

Ed Walsh because he pitched in an era that didn't have speciality doctors, videos, 6 relief pitchers waiting to bail you out, team trainers, player agents, etc... They just went out and battled.

Theres only 10 spaces, I would have to have like 25 to put all the good pitchers. I could have added Lyons, Thingpen, and others, Doc White. The list goes on.

BTW, if you see their pictures from back then, man, those where some UGLY guys.

So if there was a poll of best Sox Player ever, and Shoeless Joe was on it, youd vote for someone else?

Id vote for Frank. In fact, Im going to make a poll like that...

It's gotta be Ed Walsh.

I'm just disappointed that Jim Parque wasn't on the list.

That's why I voted "other"

Best ever was Ed Walsh. Incredible numbers. Best I ever saw in person? BlackJack and Hoyt..... from the names that are on the list.

What about Joel Horlen? 3.11 career ERA! Threw a no-hitter in '67.

Ed Walsh played in the deadball era. An ERA under 3 was normal and for wins, well they pitched every other day so theyd have a lot of wins...

Why in the hell is Tanyon NOT on this list..??

Jerry Don Gleaton is going to win this anyway..

Why the hell not?
