Kanny:

Won 1-0 in 10 innings. Tyler Kuhn with the RBI. Pitchers held Asheville to 2 hits.

And Kannapolis pitchers struck out 14 and walked 2. Pretty impressive.

Beckham 3 for 4 tonight. Nice debut at AA.

Edited by southsideirish71

That was a bunt single for Beckham. The pitcher slipped and fell coming off the mound.

Brandon Allen would have had a 2-run homer if not for the wind. Instead, a double scoring Beckham.

God... I love Retherford.

Such a clutch young player.

Bottom of the 9th... two outs... down 4-3...

You make the call.

CJ just hit a solo jack to tie the game with 2 outs

I swear he is like the minor league version of Crede for late game heroics.

It was with 2 strikes as well. Thats pretty clutch.

Thats a pretty tough break. Flowers walks, makes 3rd on a failed pickoff. Then Allen Ks, Flowers gets thrown out on the FC at home. Viciedo then Ks for the third time tonight.

And the new Barons reliever... a 30 year old journeyman... looks like he's going to blow our comeback.

DRod brought in with the bases loaded and 2 outs to get us out of this.

Yes!!!!!

Great job by Derek Rodriguez.

K on 4 pitches to end the threat.

I think Beckham should be the one to end this game...

I'm not picky. :)

Just win babyyyyy!!!!

Leadoff walk by Gartrell puts the winning run on 1st with none out.

Then a balk moves Gartell to 2nd.

Edited by scenario

The lookouts have had balk issues all night long. Gartrell walks, then balks into 2nd.

No, actually it would be more fitting if Retherford ended it.

OK Gordo, end this thing.

Here's your shot. Runners on 1st and 2nd... two outs... Beckham up.

Winner, winner. Chicken Dinner!! 4 hits, baby!!

Sweet lord what a debut. 4 for 6 with the game winner. 3 runs scored, 1 RBI.

And he drives in Retherford. Perfect way to finish it out.

Can't wait to hear JPN's comments when he gets back from the game!!

Is it me or is this the most enthusiastic/exciting minor league game thread in Soxtalk history?

Really more excited about the future of the White Sox than the current team. Of course I will watch all the big league team's games that I can, but it's more fun to think about putting all the pieces together of a much different team that has the potential to win another World Series.

And that BIRM team, if it stays intact for at least 3-4 months...is going to put up some insane offensive statistics. With our dead-in-the-water offense up north, we all need something to give us some hopefulness.

Having the Twins come into town will bring out the best in our team (at home) as it usually does. Even though the Royals are BETTER, they're just not really a rival of ours in the same way the MIN and CLE and sometimes DET are/is.

Damn impressive outing for Infante. 6 innings, 11 K's, 2 walks, no hits.
