April 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) Kanny: Won 1-0 in 10 innings. Tyler Kuhn with the RBI. Pitchers held Asheville to 2 hits. And Kannapolis pitchers struck out 14 and walked 2. Pretty impressive.
April 10, 200917 yr Beckham 3 for 4 tonight. Nice debut at AA. Edited April 10, 200917 yr by southsideirish71
April 10, 200917 yr That was a bunt single for Beckham. The pitcher slipped and fell coming off the mound.
April 10, 200917 yr Brandon Allen would have had a 2-run homer if not for the wind. Instead, a double scoring Beckham. Edited April 10, 200917 yr by flavum
April 10, 200917 yr God... I love Retherford. Such a clutch young player. Bottom of the 9th... two outs... down 4-3... You make the call. Edited April 10, 200917 yr by scenario
April 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 09:50 PM) CJ just hit a solo jack to tie the game with 2 outs I swear he is like the minor league version of Crede for late game heroics.
April 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) I swear he is like the minor league version of Crede for late game heroics. It was with 2 strikes as well. Thats pretty clutch.
April 10, 200917 yr Thats a pretty tough break. Flowers walks, makes 3rd on a failed pickoff. Then Allen Ks, Flowers gets thrown out on the FC at home. Viciedo then Ks for the third time tonight.
April 10, 200917 yr And the new Barons reliever... a 30 year old journeyman... looks like he's going to blow our comeback.
April 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) I think Beckham should be the one to end this game... I'm not picky. Just win babyyyyy!!!!
April 10, 200917 yr Leadoff walk by Gartrell puts the winning run on 1st with none out. Then a balk moves Gartell to 2nd. Edited April 10, 200917 yr by scenario
April 10, 200917 yr The lookouts have had balk issues all night long. Gartrell walks, then balks into 2nd.
April 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) I think Beckham should be the one to end this game... Here's your shot. Runners on 1st and 2nd... two outs... Beckham up.
April 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:37 PM) Winner, winner. Chicken Dinner!! 4 hits, baby!! And he drives in Retherford. Perfect way to finish it out. Can't wait to hear JPN's comments when he gets back from the game!!
April 10, 200917 yr Is it me or is this the most enthusiastic/exciting minor league game thread in Soxtalk history?
April 10, 200917 yr Author Really more excited about the future of the White Sox than the current team. Of course I will watch all the big league team's games that I can, but it's more fun to think about putting all the pieces together of a much different team that has the potential to win another World Series. And that BIRM team, if it stays intact for at least 3-4 months...is going to put up some insane offensive statistics. With our dead-in-the-water offense up north, we all need something to give us some hopefulness. Having the Twins come into town will bring out the best in our team (at home) as it usually does. Even though the Royals are BETTER, they're just not really a rival of ours in the same way the MIN and CLE and sometimes DET are/is. Edited April 10, 200917 yr by caulfield12
