I turned this game off in the 7th and I'm only following for comedic value.

 

Same. This team has been really irritating thus far. Though I will say a few things; first, Contreras looked decent. Once he gets his control down, and if he can stay healthy, I think he'll be solid. Two, at least our pen meltdown was from no one of value. I'm not worried about Richard. I think he'll be an exceptional long reliever. And as for Carrasco and MacDougal, I have no faith in them anyway. I think we're OK, as long as the offense comes around soon. But haven't we been saying this since mid-2006?

He hit a no doubter to CF tonight that was ridiculous. It also looks like he put on 20 lbs.

 

He's put on 30 pounds according to what I was told by my friends down there. The Marlins are going to be a blast to watch. I don't know if they can finish above the Phillies or Mets because their bullpen sucks, but they are loaded in the other parts of that team and could surprise some people and make a serious playoff run.

I wonder how long of a leash that MacDougal has left. I wouldnt be surprised if he isnt optioned after tonight. Great stuff, just cannot throw strikes at all.

He's put on 30 pounds according to what I was told by my friends down there. The Marlins are going to be a blast to watch. I don't know if they can finish above the Phillies or Mets because their bullpen sucks, but they are loaded in the other parts of that team and could surprise some people and make a serious playoff run.

They've proven in the past (Urbina, others) that they're willing to sell off some young talent in order to acquire that big time bullpen arm at the break in order to make a run. They could be a decent trade partner for us at the deadline.

Little known fact...while on our honeymoon, HanRam asked my wife for her phone number prior to a Marlins/Astros game. She missed out, I guess you can say.

I love, absolutely love, Steve Stone's memory. The fact he remembers Galarraga coming in during Game 162 and giving up some base runners is something only a few people would remember.

I love Jenks as much as anyone. But if we can get a ton of value for him, go for it. We need to max our value now in this transitional phase in our organization. Lots of draft picks, and lots of talent to reload for another championship run. We should be reloading for Project 2011 which is when we reload with a strong youthful core.
