Welcome to the board and thanks for your post.

If he makes it, he'd likely be a back of the rotation type starter... between 3-5.

Has decent stuff. Scouting reports give him bonus points for makeup and poise. And has a bit of a deceptive motion, which could help him get a shot.

Here goes Dan Hudson...4 k's in 2 innings.

What's up with the Sally League? Is it good pitching or bad hitting?

I mean, when Ken Williams Jr is your third best hitter with a .245 average...

LOL. I asked the same question about a week ago. I'd love to think all of our starters are just that good right now. But this is getting crazy. I hope it's not too long before guys like Infante, Carter and Hudson move up to High A.

Huge fan of Ely due to where he played high school, but I'm not sure he has the stuff to make the majors as a starting pitcher. He's very much in the mode of the "old regime", as he throws about 89 mph with the usual offspeed pitches. I hope he makes it though, as he's a huge Sox fan.

Single for Shelby, double for Beckham in the LF corner. Beck did have a failed bunt attempt, but made up for it.

Sac fly for Flowers. Beckham also tagged and got into third.

Allen K's. Viciedo grounded out.

Kanny:

Hudson

5 inn, 1 hit, 1 walk, 9 k's

Edited by flavum

Hudson has 11 k's in 6 innings.

Barons 3rd inning:

Beckham hit a liner to LF, guy made a diving catch.

Flowers singled.

Allen doubled to rf (awesome he can hit lefties and run)

Viciedo sac fly (RBI 10), Allen to third

Cook homered 4-0

Gartrell k'd

Hudson is ridiculous. I am not sure about his stuff, but his peripherals would suggest they are very good, prolly the ceiling of a 2.

I heard the announcer say he was hitting 94 on the gun. This guy can't stay in this league all year. That can't happen.

I want to be excited about Hudson, but Corwin Malone struck out 16 guys once....haha

read his AAP page

he has 30 k's and 2 bb in 22 IP so far this season. is 15:1 a good k to bb ratio?? i don't know much about the sabermetrics stuff.

I don't think the Kanny guys will get serious consideration until they get 50 innings under their belt unless there is an injury.

I think you really have to start paying attention to numbers once pitchers reach Winston-Salem and Birmingham.

Almost all pitchers have reallly good numbers in Low A ball (SAL, Midwest League) because the quality of hitters and line-ups is just not that deep.

It's always breaking through from A ball success to AA that's the hardest jump for most prospects.

Hudson is out of the game. No decision. Too bad.

7 innings, 2 hits, 1 walk, 13 k's

Barons 4th:

Retherford doubles

Price singles

Shelby doubles, scoring Retherford

pitching change

Beckham singles on a nubber past the mound, scoring Price

Flowers struck out

Allen struck out

Viciedo pops out to 2B

6-0, top 5

Dan Hudson sporting the insane 30/2 K/BB rate on the year.

He's good.

His numbers are like a rich man's Brad Radke.

Shelby has been picking it up the last 7-10 days.

5 doubles now, 4 stolen bases, batting average has risen to .264, around 730 OPS.

Beckham with an RBI single (10), back up to .295. Nine doubles for Gordo, pretty impressive. Exactly the type of hitter we need to have in our line-up.

If Dan Hudson could win 148 career games (Radke played for some horrific Twins' post World Series team with an ERA of 4.22), I think the scout who signed him and KW would definitely take it.

Not only that, but Radke didn't believe in pain...a true gamer that any team would love to have.

He pitched the final season of his career with his arm barely held together with duct tape...but gutted it out somehow and then promptly retired.

Every year he seems to go on a big roll at some point.

It's a beautiful thing when he does. It's not a singles fest either. Watch him put up a bunch of homeruns and doubles before year end.

I'm betting he ends up around .300 with 25 doubles and 15 homeruns.

Burdie for Kanny struck out 5 in 2 innings. That means 18 Lake County batter have struck out. And it's still a 0-0 game as far as I know.

...oh and 13 Kanny batters have struck too.

54 outs...31 strikeouts.

Diamond Jaxx finally scored an unearned run.

C Price (who's the Corkaroo of that team) had a passed ball with runners at 1st and 2nd and then whipped a throw past Viciedo into LF (trying to get the advancing runner), so kind of a double-error on one play.

6-1 going into the 6th.

Edited by caulfield12

Remenowsky pitched the 10th...3 strikeouts!!! 21 k's

He has 14 k's in 8 innings this year. No walks. No ERA.
