May 20, 200916 yr Updated: May 20, 2009, 6:28 PM ET Bulls to name Forman GM Comment Email Print Share ESPNChicago.com The Chicago Bulls will promote Gar Forman to general manager at a news conference on Thursday. John Paxson will remain with the organization as executive vice president of basketball operations. Paxson had served as GM since April 2003, when he was officially hired as executive vice president of basketball operations. Forman joined the organization as a scout in 1998 and became the team's director of player personnel in January 2004. Forman was an assistant coach and recruiter on the college level prior to joining the Bulls. Paxson's title doesn't change, but it's likely his role -- which he described this season as the general manager -- will have different responsibilities. The move comes after a season in which the Boston Celtics eliminated the Bulls from the playoffs in seven games. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) Right after roughly the best deal Pax ever made as a GM. Swapping draft picks with Phoenix...swapping Crawford to NY for a pick, Swapping Curry to NY for cap space and a pick...he's got some doozy's.
May 22, 200916 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 22, 2009 -> 10:56 AM) Says Bulls want Gordon back. I am still not convinced he is worth the $$ he is gonna get b/c of his size, poor D and ball handling. But if you can rid Hinrich's contract and keep Gordon, you can still be in the Bosh/Amare sweepstakes. He is a dynamic scorer, which we def. lack.

I'm not convinced anyone in the league is going to offer him anything close to the money he thinks he deserves.
May 22, 200916 yr I saw the press conference, and I couldn't believe how old Paxson looked. I hope his health is ok, because he looks like a different person than he did a few months ago.
May 22, 200916 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2009 -> 02:57 PM) I would have rather had Abe Froman.
