Sox @ Angels 5-25-09 - Danks vs. Santana

Featured Replies

I've mentioned this before, I would hate to see Beckham move to third. He should be playing short, second at the very least. I would love to see him at short and Alexei in center but I don't think that will happen.

watching JD's homerun again, i still stand firmly by my opinion that he has the prettiest right-handed power swing in baseball right now

Wow Danks...Carrasco might get in this game before the 3rd inning.

I would get frustrated with me if I were you also. THis too shall pass!

by the way, I cannot believe the Indians actually won this game, i think they were down 10-0 at one point.

Yes, yes the were haha.

Personally, Quentin should still be put on the DL.

Agreed. If they were desperate enough to do cortisone shots and shockwave back to back the heel was really hurting. I don't know if it was the same thing or maybe compensating for the pain that caused the problem today but he obviously hasn't been running right for awhile. He should rest it.

Couldn't agree more.

This has the feel of a very long ball game.

How long does Fields have to suck before it can be determined he's not a championship quality 3rd baseman?

Let him have at least 1 full, healthy season which up to this point he hasn't had. He was hurt in 2007 and still, it's hard to call his 2007 rookie season a disappointment.

Let him prove he cannot adjust to MLB pitching. Let him prove he can't hit in the summer in the Cell. If the Sox tank this season, let him prove he can't hit all year. The only way I'd understand is if it's a contending season with super high expectations, but that is not the case this year. So far, we suck.

Most players don't even get 150 MLB games to prove they suck. Maybe the Sox gave up on guys like Owens and Terrero too soon. Mike Caruso hit .300 as a rookie and then sucked. The Sox gave up on him. That was just stupid.

Oooooooh, good examples!!!!

Good thing we gave up on Crede, and Rowand, and Garland, who all came up and sucked too. I can play that game too.

Big double play!

very nice turn on that

DJ Carrasco warming.

Crede was pretty damn good in 2002. Rowand got benched in CF for Carl Everett in 2003. When Garland was 26 he was a world champion.

Anyone else really impressed with the Scotty Pods, Happy Gilmoure swing?

But why not send Fields down to AAA and let him get his confidence? His biggest problem is hitting 91 mph fastballs, and he'll see plenty of those in Charlotte. He has an option left, and he's doing himself and the team no favors by being with the big league squad.

look who made a nice play...

after that leadoff walk i was sure this was gonna get ugly fast, but john battled

good job, let's hold em and put some more on the board, this guy who replaced santana isn't very good either

I don't think being demoted has ever helped anybody's confidence.

Fields has been a huge dissapointment so far, but if this team isn't going anywhere and you might as well give him a chance. Wilson Betemit and Jason Nix aren't long term answers, Viciedo isn't ready, and I don't want to see Beckham at third.

I know Figgins is fast, but if Fields doesn't make that play he should be anywhere near majors.

I really like it, in a perverted kind of way..

oh wait, wrong message board

Would you really rather have Betemit there?

Anyway, I don't deal with Josh on a daily basis. Who knows exactly what's going through his head? I'd imagine he's working on it. He may well just need time.

You're going to feel stupid when we recall Lillibridge and his fly balls to right field actually make it out of the infield.
