I don't think it looks that bad

it looks like they didnt put there on purpose, but rather it just started growing on its own. it hangs all over the place, it reminds me of the ripley from dreamcatcher, only green.

Random thoughts on this thread:

I'm glad people are showing up, and I don't really care why they are.

If they show up for the fireworks and the Sox put on a good show, maybe next time they come for a ballgame instead.

Do Sox fans REALLY want to see "Cellville" come to life, with the "casual fan" element it will bring along for the ride?

( Related note: is that ivy going up to make the Cellville people feel comfortable??? )

If that IKEA/parking/strip mall happens, how bad would traffic suck on game days?

no i dont want to see the park come alive with the casual fan... if i wanted that id go to wrigley..........i would prefer the park full of knowledgeable fans....or at least fans who have enough sense not to throw back a home run ball no matter who hit is...(see this past thursdays game)....as for the traffic question .. it wouldnt suck anymore than it already does now.....

r u guys really serious about the ivy?

did the sox plant some?

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING!

Did that really happen on Thursday? That is pathetic.

I would never EVER throw a HR ball back on the field - I'd give it to a kid instead.

I was happy at the ASG that the attempted waves did not happen - that and the Tomahawk Chop are the two most nauseating crowd activities ever.

Only when done by the Atlanta Braves fans who ripped it off when Deion played for them.

If you want nauseating, look no further than the Florida Gator fans and their stupid "hand chomping".

i can't get to espn and i don't know why so ____

just over 20K

that's not ivy out there, that is some sort of vine - and it is coming along fine I think for the batters eye - a lot better than bare wall - just cuz it is green and gorws does not make it ivy

as for the dude on thursday who threw the ball back - he's a jerk. You get a ball, you keep it or give it to a kid. Throwing it back is so cubbie.

The question of whether we want the Sox to draw well is a great insightful question - I do. Certainly a crowd of 20,000 is easier for traffic and concession lines that 35,000, but I'd sure like to see the place full for almost every game.

i am not kidding.... just a weekend gardener here... whats the difference between a vine and ivy?

ivy, vine... whats the difference... its green and grows all over the place.....lol.........it sucks and is very cubbish......hell plant flowers or something, or dont plant anything at all.....anything is better than ivy/vines whatever you want to call it.........as for thursday nites game.. yes the ball demitri hit out was tossed back into rf........so do i want casual fans there?? hell no .. .not if they behave like that........they are also probably the ones who would get a bug up their ass and run onto the field......... ;)

anyone who hates the ivy has to answer this question. If the Cubs didn't have the ivy, would they be cool with the Sox having it?

people spend too much time worrying about the Cubs.

no, at least not with me. it has nothing to do with the cubs having it, it just looks like crap.

If we win and show some passion, they will come.

We have to win to draw fans.

It's been that way forever.
