lol i had a cactus once..........so what does that tell ya about my green thumbs..... i now cater to fake plants... they are easier to take care of..... ;)

it looks better than wall but instead of that "green vine" in center fiels why don't they just plant a big bush and carve the sox logo into it. and put something else like wood chips or something on top of the green walls. the renovations look good but there are too many colors. they're gonna put a warehouse in the back of rf in 2 years like camden yards.

they have little bushes out there.. of course with the ivy/vine thing you cant see them too good..

yeah those little circle things on top but im saying a huge bush and carve the sox logo to make the bush a sox logo im sure the groundskeeping genious of roger bossart can handle that

i have no problem with that... sure would look tons better than ivy.......

i definately agree hsc the ivy looks better than a wall but it doesn't look great either

If we win and show some passion, they will come.

We have to win to draw fans.

It's been that way forever.

I disagree. There was never this attendance talk about Chicago until Jerry's Folley was constructed at 35th and Veeck Dr. Once the newness wore off and the '97 Strike took place, USCF has fought to draw fans. Even in 2000, when the Sox had a first place team, fans didn't particularly come out to USCF (Comiskey) in droves.

numbers don't add -

you telling us we had a presold 26,000?

Yep. But that's standard on a Fireworks Night.

They should have fireworks every night. ;)

There was a strike in '97?

And in 2000, didn't we draw almost 2.5 million? That's pretty good, no?

Oops. The Strike was in '94. White Flag Trade was in '97. We've had so many good things happen to this franchise thanks to JR that I sometimes confuse dates and seasons

60 posts? I feel all happy and I got sunshine in a bag.

I'm not disputing that number, but I'd be shocked if the Sox drew that many fans during 2000. I, for one, went to a few "teen" thousand attendance games in August and September back in 2000. I remember thinking to myself that the team is winning but no one is coming out to watch.

attendance since 1990 and no we werent no where near 2.5 we almost just hit 2.0............

once labor day weekend showed up in 2000, no one came thereafter - I remember that because I was so stunned

One of the worst ballpark features of PNC is the plain green wall for the batters eye, it really sticks out like a sore thumb. Ivy is definitely better than a plain wall, and i'm not gonna be unhappy about it because the Cubs have it. More teams have it now anyway.

Half price night after taking 3/4 from Detroit...any guesses for tonight?

23,000

25,752

God, now I feel like Ron Santo doing the "Attendance Game"!!!!!

:dips*** :D

hmm i say around 21,750

There will be at least 2, since Huge and I will be there. We can eat enough for 8.

SURVEY SAIDS... 31,776 people in attendance, 9406 walk ups!

that is excellent news and we need to reward them with a victory
