...to add to this. I say this because they outright show it.

They run on Platform A, which says if X happens, we need to do Y. The people agree...the people vote for that person, but then when that persons in office and X happens, they do Z instead.

There is no accountability in the government anymore. There was a time that if you ran on Platform A but got elected and enacted Platform B, there would have been hell to pay...now it doesn't even matter. People have such short term memories, you can say whatever you want while campaigning and just do whatever you want after you win.

This is the primary problem - PEOPLE, the voters, as a group, mostly don't give a crap, don't keep track of what is going on, and when they do track their representatives, its usually just reacting to some absurdist email that's been forwarded 20 times. Its a lack of involvement among the citizenry. And that is a lot less the problem of the people in Congress, and more about us (the voting public).

There's like a dozen different reasons that happens, frankly that's just the way politics works.

Doesn't mean I have to like it.

I guess I could as easily say there are hundreds of reasons why the world gets polluted...so meh, that's just the way it is...let's ignore it. That's just the way human nature works.

I get what you're saying, it's just that it's stopped bothering me so much lately.

To be honest, me too. I learned this lesson from Joshua -- the computer in the movie War Games. As Prof. Falken said, "There's a time when you should just give up."

Now.

How about a nice game of chess?

(Or maybe I'm too old for this place.) :D

I thought there were rules in place on this forum for saying things like this?

Yeah Kap, do not make fun of their Senate leader like that. :lolhitting

Mitch McConnell is the biggest douchebag asshole ever to be in the Senate. And he has s*** for brains, quite literally.

It's funny how easily some people complain about others when they themselves say things about people on the other side that mean essentially the same thing.

Yeah. It's an almost everyday occurrence where I throw a bunch of obscenities at people on this forum. Thanks for keeping track for me.

I was gonna delete that but whatever.

When did Kap direct anything towards you? He didnt.

You and others say essentially the same s*** about Palin, GWB others all the time. Who the hell cares that Kap used a naughty word (OMG!). That was the only difference. Get over it.

I just find the rules on this site to be confusing. Replace Harry Reid in the statement he made with a Sox player, a member of this site, a religious figure, etc and most people would get banned in here. Different rules for Admins? The "It's my house and the rules don't apply to me" attitude don't sit well with me.

When's the last time I suspended someone for that? I let stuff like that ride all the time. As long as it isn't slanderous, libelous, or just plain obnoxious to everyone else I don't really care what people say about public figures.

Well the Sox players and administration are off limits because there are people in the organization who read this board and it makes sense that Jason and others would want to keep statements like that off of here.

Attacks towards each other leads to degradation of the board.

Attacks towards political figures, world leaders, etc have never really been off limits, nor should they. If I called Kim Jong Il a piece of s*** I shouldnt have to be worried about being banned for it, IMO.

Warning sent. Stay off my leader.

Yea, me too. And sure, I have different rules because I'm an Admin. GMAFB, dude. That arguement is just lame, so please knock it off. Your post about Mitchie Poo is just fine. I'm glad you support Harry "s*** for brains" Reid so much. It isn't like I said it about your boy Obama, but now that you mention it... naaah, Obama's smarter then that, thank God.

Actually I don't support him at all. Just was a very juvenile, non-value added post that added nothing to the discussion.

I fail to see an identity crisis. Only in liberal land could that be considered such where "not cutting medicare becomes the same as a vast expansion of medicare".

If anything, that makes those who released that look really stupid to people that can add 2 and 2.
